Parallel Genetic Cryptanalysis
by
Abdelwadood Mesleh
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 1948-1953
Abstract - In this work, a parallel
genetic cryptanalysis (PGC) algorithm for the basic substitution permutation
network is implemented.
The parallel elitism GA algorithm is implemented using OpenMP. The PGC
proves itself to offer a significant performance advantage over the elitism
genetic algorithm as it gains a 1.6 speedup on a dual core Pentium IV machine.
In all the cryptanalysis experiments, the PGC algorithm gets the entire key
bits.

by
Abhishek A. K., Aneesh M. U., Arun B. V., Darshan Kumar S. Yaradoni,

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 1954-1968
Abstract - This paper proposes and
investigates the potential of performing Face Recognition (FR) using face
databases consisting of segmented images of ORL, color FERET and Extended Yale
B. A novel method of extracting DCT coefficients in the form of quadrant of
circle is proposed. A way of creating compressed database using segmented images
is proposed. We observe that
multilevel thresholding based segmentation retains the features required for FR,
while at the same time laying a ground for Edge Detection. Results of the
experiments conducted on illumination variant database show increased
Recognition Rate (RR) for segmented images. Further, we establish that using
Tsallis entropy based segmented images for FR does not deteriorate RR. This also
implies that the proposed FR system is robust for segmented images as well.
Furthermore, testing time for the segmented FERET reduces by nearly 8 seconds as
compared to the original database.

Thresholding and Multilevel Illumination
Normalization for
Enhanced Face Recognition
by
Milan S. Shet, Minal Patel, K. Manikantan, S. Ramachandran
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 1969-1985
Abstract - This paper proposes two
novel techniques based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for enhancing the
performance of Face Recognition (FR) systems. The wavelet approach is used for
feature extraction and also as a pre-processing step. The first technique,
Normalized Magnitude based Thresholding (NMBT), is used in feature extraction
along with DWT to improve performance of the FR system for ORL database. The
second technique, DWT based Multilevel Illumination Normalization (DWT – MIN),
is a preprocessing technique which accounts for normalizing the illumination
variance in images. Together with Feature Selection using Binary Particle Swarm
Optimization and Image Pre-processing techniques such as Resolution Reduction,
Gamma Intensity Correction and Edge Detection, we obtain an improved Recognition
Rate and a reduced number of selected features for the proposed FR systems.
Experiments conducted on ORL, YaleB and Color FERET face databases show an
enhanced performance as compared to other FR systems.

Abstract - To make up for the
deficiency of the current image encryption algorithm based on fractional Fourier
transform, a new image encryption algorithm is introduced in the paper, which
combines fractional Fourier transform and chaotic systems.
The safety of this algorithm depends on random chaotic images, fractional
Fourier transform order and initial parameters of chaotic system. The
theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the algorithm has good
image encryption effect.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 1996-2002
Abstract - Iris recognition is known as an accurate reliable technique for human
identification. Feature extraction and noise removing are crucial steps and
important tasks for iris recognition. In this paper, an optimum feature
extraction algorithm based on Wavelet transform for iris recognition is
proposed. In this algorithm, different features are used based on Haar wavelet
transform.
These features are
extracted from different coefficients such as horizontal, vertical and diagonal
coefficients or combination of them in different levels and their performance is
evaluated.
Experimental
results show that combination of CV4 and CD4 in the forth level of wavelet
transform obtains the best results.
This algorithm is
efficient and gives acceptable accuracy. In this work, we have used CASIA Iris
database consisting of 756 images to evaluate our proposed algorithm.

Improvement of Thai Speech Emotion Recognition
by
Igor Stankovic, Montri Karnjanadecha, Vlado Delic
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2003-2015
Abstract - Emotions are not usually expressed in the Thai language, because
emotional stress would interfere with the speaker’s meaning, which makes emotion
recognition using Thai speech difficult. Humans use audio cues to recognize
fear, anger and disgust, while happiness and surprise seem to be strong “visual”
emotions. Our experiments prove this assumption and we present a simple way to
combine speech and facial features. The proposed Thai emotion recognition system
augments the speech emotion recognition process with face feature analysis via
an audiovisual Thai emotion database.
Our speech emotion
recognizer is based on calculating mel-frequency cepstral coefficients, zero
crossing rate, and energy from short-time speech signals. Our face feature
analysis is composed of several newly proposed approaches, includes the use of a
reference point and middle frames in image sequences, and fully automatic facial
landmark point extraction. It produces very good facial expression recognition
results and improves the accuracy of the overall system and reduces errors. The
combination of speech and facial expressions show that both vision and hearing
play an important part in expressing and recognizing emotions.

Blind Detection of Synthesized JPEG Image
by

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2016-2021
Abstract - JPEG compression introduces quantization noise leading to the
inconsistencies of statistical characteristics between tampered region and
background region of the synthesized image, thus this paper proposes an
algorithm to blindly detect color synthesized JPEG image via quantization noise
analysis. Firstly, the synthesized image is recompressed using a higher
quantization matrix and the corresponding quantization noise is calculated. Then
PCA is employed to separate different components of the quantization noise.
Finally, by using binary and morphology operation to the first PCA component,
the tampered regions would be detected and located. Experimental results show
that our proposed algorithm is simple and effective.

A Botnet Detection System Using Multiple Classifiers

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2022-2028
Abstract - Among the various forms of intrusions and malware, bots are considered as
the largest known security threat, and it leads to an open issue in the problem
of Intrusion Detection Systems. Botnets provide a distributed platform and can
perform a huge number of illegal operations on the network or a specific victim.
In addition bots can attack the different structures of network; such as IRC,
P2P, Http, Ftp and DNS. Recently many of researches have been interested in the
topic of botnet detection. This paper provides a botnet detection system using
multiple classifiers. Multiple classifiers method uses a set of classifiers and
tries to find the better combination method between them to give a true answer;
this method allows compensating the error of one classifier by true answers of
the others, also it decreases the probability of falling in a local optimum.
Eight single classifiers have been used in our multiple classifier system. These
classifiers are as the following: five neural networks with different
parameters, one LDA classifier, one QDA classifier and a Bayesian network
classifier. Then a majority voting strategy has been considered to combine the
results of these classifiers. The system has been implemented and tested on
feasible part of standard bot set. The results of this system show that the
multiple classifiers system behaves better than its components; also it can tune
the sensitivity of the system, whereas this feature is not possible in the
single classifiers.

Multispectral and Panchromatic Image Fusion
by
Xiaoqing Luo, Xiaojun Wu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2034-2040
Abstract - It is an important issue in remote sensing image fusion that effectively
combines the high spatial and high spectral resolutions in order to obtain the
complete and accurate description of the observed scene. In previous research,
various algorithms have been proposed. However, the available methods could
hardly produce the satisfactory results especially in the spectral aspect. In
this paper, a new fusion method based on multi-feature and wavelet transform is
proposed to fuse panchromatic image (PAN) with multispectral image (MS). This
approach uses entropy component analysis (ECA) and adaptive principal component
analysis (APCA) to eliminate band redundancy. The first principal component of
MS (FPCM) and PAN is decomposed using wavelet. PAN is divided into windows and
extract multi-feature of window and then get region. For low frequency subband,
the low frequency coefficient of FPCM is selected as that of fusion image. A
statistical model method based on region is adopted as high frequency fusion
rule. High resolution multispectral image is then obtained by an inverse wavelet
and ECA transform. Experimental results including visual and numerical
evaluation also proves the superiority of the proposed method to its
counterparts. .

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2041-2044
Abstract - In this paper, we propose an ontology for the field of mechanical design
that enable the sharing of mechanical design knowledge. In the process
of ontology construction, meta-concepts in mechanical design field are
extracted, relationships between the concepts are then defined, and
finally knowledge is integrated based on the experience and inference of
the designer. Then, the ontology has been used in the development and
design of learning contents environment. When learning contents
environment is designed, ontology plays an important role in the
structuring of mechanical design knowledge. By doing this, the tacit
information will be made clear and understandable that solves the
problem of knowledge sharing and reusing.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2045-2053
Abstract - The proficiency of
ontologies as the formal explication of knowledge in different domains has
motivated numerous software engineers to develop miscellaneous ontology editors.
The recent propensity of ontology engineering community, collaborative ontology
development, necessitates exclusive ontology platforms supporting collaborative
aspects. Although a few research have strived to look over the collaborative
ontology editors, they have not determined a complete list of requirements and
benchmarks for their investigations. Therefore, collaborative ontology
development requirements have been proposed in this research comprehending
collaborative methodologies and platforms. Regarding to these touchstones, two
existing categories of collaborative ontology editors have been explored here.
The most discussed and applied instances of these platforms, wiki-based and
non-wiki-based, have been enumerated in this paper too. The itemization,
description, and evaluation of platforms can be fruitful for the ontology-based
applications in future. The results of this research (in the context of an
ongoing EU project) demonstrate that workflow support, reliability of software,
and integration/representation/storing of changes are the prominent gaps of
current collaborative ontology development platforms.

A Robust Distributed Boosting Algorithm in Imbalanced
by
Redouane Semghouni, Sid Ahmed Rahal
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2054-2061
Abstract - Boosting algorithm is a
popular technique for the construction of ensembles of highly accurate
classifiers, learning these classifiers is sequentially, and the process takes
time and memory with a high dimension data. Learning from distributed data has
many problems, like the learning from imbalanced data (where we find in each
distant site one or two class that dominate all other class). In this paper
first we propose a parallel and distributed version of the boosting algorithm,
and then we propose a robust strategy using ontology to equilibrate data
virtually over all distant sites. In our distributed learning approach, we built
a classifier at each round at each node, then the classifiers are exchanged
between all nodes, and the best classifier based in some criteria is retained to
update weights for the next iteration in all nodes. Each classifier is built
from a virtual database and not from the real database. This virtual database is
created by the ontology. This will assure a very well achievement of the
distributed data mining algorithm. This approach is tested with several data
sets with several case of partitioning. Our experience show that this approach
is better in accuracy, faster and scalable compared to the standard sequential
boosting.

A New Approach for Reinforcement Learning
by W.
Zemzem, M. Tagina
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2078-2087
Abstract - In this paper, a new reinforcement learning approach, called DAC-PS, is
developed for solving the problem of an autonomous mobile robot navigating in an
unknown and dynamic environment.
This problem is principally related to the exploration/ exploitation dilemma,
especially the need to find a solution letting the robot to detect the
environmental change and also to learn in order to adapt to the new
environmental form without ignoring knowledge already acquired. In this study,
firstly, an environmental model is built by experience of the robot and is used
to detect environmental changes. Secondly, prior knowledge is updated after each
reported change and only valid information is kept. Then, the learning step is
done using Prioritized Sweeping algorithm (PS).
Finally, an
intelligent exploration/exploitation policy based on an auto-evaluation of
learning is implemented in order to help the robot to choose the adequate action
at every learning step and to be able to detect all changes including those
which occurred in areas far from the path currently taken by the robot. The
conducted simulation tests indicate the strength of the new proposed approach
for the navigation of an autonomous mobile robot in a non stationary
environment. The results show that DAC-PS performs better than some RL
algorithms and that it has advantages over methods specifically designed to cope
with non-stationary.

Abstract - Multi-tier data centers have become a norm for hosting modern Internet
applications as they provide a flexible, modular, scalable and high performance
environment. However, these benefits come at a price of the economic dent
incurred in powering and cooling these large hosting centers. Energyefficiency,
performance, power utilization and environmental considerations become critical
considerations in designingand implementing large, cluster-based multi-tier data
centers for supporting a multitude of services. Tierperformance standards are
key features for comparing the capabilities of a particular design topology
against others or to compare group of data centers. This paper proposes to
categorize data centers in four tier level categories depending on different
parameters like performance, facilities, throughput, and subsystems in data
center.
The proposed
technique helps to measure the performance and efficiency accurately and
resourcefully. The classification helps technical and non-technical data center

Abstract - With the emergence of technologies such as workflow and web services supported by Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), blending of services provided by organizations become more and more instrumental. Organisations exert great efforts to not only fulfill functional requirements of their business processes but also satisfy their non-functional conditions by producing good overall Quality of Service (QoS).
The purpose of this paper is to present an approach to accomplish verification in the early modeling phases of a Service-Based Application. This approach will allow verifying some user-defined Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) easier. This work introduces our proposed prototype tool for NFRs specification using domain specific language. It ensures automatic verification chain for applications models based on Petri nets. Thanks to this chain, designers can check model validity without any prerequisite knowledge on how it actually was accomplished.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2159-2172
Abstract - Context: Offshore and on-site teams’ partnership quality has been key
predictors to achieve high quality software and reduce cost in the case of
Global Software Development (GSD) projects from the software service provider
perspective in India.
Aim: Our research
aim is to build a unified and theoretically grounded research model which
specifies the different dimensions of offshore and onsite teams partnership
quality and underlying the influencing factors towards the outcome of GSD
projects.
Objective:
Specifically, our study focused on the measurement of perceived partnership
quality factors (knowledge sharing, trust, commitment and requirements flow
down) between offshore and on-site teams rather than gap analysis, as earlier
research has indicated the partnership quality factors influence the outcome of
GSD projects.
Method: The purpose
of this study is to specify the working relationship between offshore and
on-site teams in the outsourcing on-going stage based on Social Exchange Theory
(SET) perspective. To explore the influence of partnership quality factors
towards the outcome of GSD projects from the service provider perspective into
three dimensions: schedule, cost improvement, and service quality.
This study employs survey research methods to empirically validate the
research model based on the data collected from 338 software professionals for
their view of GSD projects in India.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2173-2178
Abstract - Management of biological or chemical incidents represents a challenging
and demanding issue since it consists of several complex activities and
important decisions. In case of accidents in agricultural or industrial mills or
plants these decisions have to be made by personnel who are usually not
primarily trained for such situations. From the technological perspective,
various approaches or principles have been already applied and intended for
computer-based support of biological or chemical incidents management. However,
few of them incorporate principles of smart solutions which can make decisions
even more precise and appropriate.
This paper presents
model utilizable for the management of biological or chemical incidents created
in the multi-agent NetLogo environment and outlines possibilities of its
extension by smart solution elements. Furthermore, together with the description
of the simulation model, its parameterization is explained, and areas for
further research are depicted.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2206-2213
Abstract - This paper proposes a novel mathematical model for the multiplier
architecture based on multiplexers that aim for a Boolean optimized truncated
product and power. The design of efficient truncated and low power multiplier is
essential for VLSI implementation of Digital Signal and Image Processing
techniques. Various traditional efficient array and parallel multipliers have
been used and many of them boost the speed of the device at the cost of large
VLSI area and high power dissipation. A new mathematical optimization modeling
approach based on Boolean optimization for multiplexer based multiplier has been
proposed in this paper by eliminating the redundant product term in stage-2 of
multiplexer based architecture. The proposed optimized Multiplexer based
Multiplier was implemented in HSPICE 1.0 environment in TSMC 180 nm, 90 nm and
45 nm library technology files. The results obtained are tabulated in the
Simulation results section, and it is observed that the proposed Transistor
Optimized Multiplexer based multiplier consumes approximately 35% reduction of
dynamic power by avoiding unwanted dynamic switching transients that exist in
the multiplier. It also reduces the
area count in terms of number of transistors by 37% when compared to the
existing multiplexer based multiplier, the conventional Braun Array Multiplier,
and the conventional multiplexer based multiplier for 8 x 8 bit multiplication

Energy Efficiency Time Synchronization
by

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2214-2219
Abstract - Time synchronization is an important issue to Underwater Sensor Networks
(UWSN). Usually, UWSN has very high requirement in energy consume to prolong
network lifetime. Existing time synchronization approaches take too much
attention on synchronization accuracy, and take traffic energy out of
consideration, which makes them not suitable to actual application. In this
paper, we propose a simple time synchronization scheme, called “Sim-Sync”, which
forces on reducing synchronization energy cost for underwater acoustic sensor
networks. It aims at reducing message exchange cost in the synchronization
process, and makes use of re-synchronization mechanism to ensure the acceptable
precision. Sim-Sync balances the tradeoff between energy saving and
synchronization accuracy. We show through simulations that Sim-Sync achieves
minimal energy cost time synchronization with allowable precision.

An Improved Hierarchical Data Aggregation Mechanism
by
Haibo Pu, Lijia Xu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2220-2225
Abstract - The wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are formed by a large number of
sensor nodes working together to provide a specific duty. However, the low
energy capacity assigned to each node prompts users to look at an important
design challenge such as lifetime maximization. In order to decrease energy
consumption and so, increase network’s lifetime, volume of transmitted data
should be decreased. A solution, which is suggested, is data aggregation. In
aggregation mechanisms, the nodes aggregate received data and send aggregated
data instead of raw data to sink, so, the volume of the transmitted data is
decreased. As the data aggregation technology is effective to reduce the energy
consumed by a WSN and extend its survival cycle, this article is aimed at an
improved hierarchical data aggregation mechanism that improves in respect of
optimal number of cluster heads and cluster head selection threshold etc., as
well as adopts different aggregation strategies on different levels on the
precondition of clustering. It is revealed by the Matlab simulation experiment
that such mechanism eclipses the LEACH protocol in terms of performance since it
is able to cut down network energy consumption and prolong network survival
cycle in an effective approach.

Abstract - The high improvement of mobile communication technology and the reduction
in cost of hardware have accelerated the wide popularity of mobile application,
in which the personalized recommendation is playing a more and more important
role in users’ preferences and needs. This paper presents a novel approach of
location-aware personalized recommendation by clustering-based collaborative
filtering, providing recommendation list for users according to their current
positions from mobile devices. First, users are partitioned into different
clusters by k-means algorithm, in order to speed up the process for searching
the nearest neighbors. Second, the location-aware factor is computed according
to the user’s acceptable distance of items, which is changing over time. Third,
the recommendation list is produced by combining location-aware factor with
clustering-based collaborative filtering. An application system of hotel

Reducing the Effect of Mobility on AODV
by
Bisengar Ahmed, Ouadoudi Zytoune, Rziza Mohamed,

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2254-2259
Abstract - A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a self-configuring multi hop network
of mobile hosts connected by wireless links without any
stand-alone infrastructure. Since a destination node might be out of
transmission range of a source node, routing techniques are needed to find a
path so as to forward the packets correctly between the source and the
destination nodes. Due to the network topology changes, routing is critical in
MANETs. AODV requires a new route discovery process whenever a link breaks, such
frequent route discoveries cause a high routing overhead and increase end-to-end
delay. In this paper, we propose a set of protocols based on AODV for
integrating relative velocity, distance, and hop count into the path cost
calculation for MANETs. It is confirmed that this improvement has higher packet
delivery ratio and less end-to-end delay than the AODV protocol.

because it can assist surgeons in carrying out pre-surgery processes
efficiently. This study aims to produce techniques and algorithms that can be
used to implement implant transformation processes, such as translations,
rotations and reflections, on medical images. The main objective of this paper

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2277-2284
Abstract - In recent years the growing problem of breaches in information security
of reconfigurable Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Intellectual Property
(IP) cores has created a demand for developing an effective Intellectual
Property Protection (IPP) technique for securing the FPGA IP cores. With the
increase in use of reconfigurable FPGAs in production designs and in
implementation of system on FPGA applications, protecting IP preserves
competitive advantage and protects investment. In this paper, a novel wireless
scheme based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is proposed for
securing the information contained in the FPGA IP cores. The existing FPGA core
IPP techniques are basically IP core infringement detection techniques with
limited protection capability and they do not prevent the unauthorized usage of
IP cores. The proposed work is
distinct from other existing works, as it is an IP infringement preventive
scheme that employs wireless authentication and remote activation techniques to
provide access control protection for IP cores. The proposed scheme also
overcomes the secure secret decryption key storage problem associated with
traditional encryption-based IPP techniques that are widely used for IPP of
reconfigurable FPGA IP cores. The results derived from the testing of hardware
prototype used for the evaluation of the proposed scheme are quite encouraging.

An Energy-Efficient Real-time Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor
Networks
by Pengliu Tan, Mingshan Ju
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2285-2289
Abstract - To meet the real-time QoS (Quality of Service) requirements in the applications of wireless sensor networks, an energy-efficient real-time routing protocol is proposed, in which localization and clustering is integrated. The cluster is determined by using location information of nodes. Cluster head is elected by utilizing a hybrid method based on the anchor nodes, barycenter and residual energy, so as to balance the energy consumption overall the network. In addition, a dynamic routing mechanism is applied to dynamically adjust the transmission rate of data packets, in order to meet the real-time QoS. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol can not only effectively balance the energy consumption to extend the network lifetime but also lower the delay to meet some real-time requirements

An Asymmetric Encryption Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks Based on

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2290-2297
Abstract - The elliptic curve cryptosystem (ECC) have many excellent characteristics, such as short key, low cost, rapid encryption speed, high security level and etc. Now, there is a tendency for ECC to replace other asymmetric cryptosystems such as RSA, DSS. Based on the basic principles of the elliptic curve cryptosystem and the features of WSNs, the paper propose a novel asymmetric encryption algorithm, named WSNs-ECC, which is used for vital-data encryption and keys management in resource-restrained WSNs. The experiments in wireless sensors demonstrate: on the same security level, the average encryption speed of WSNs-ECC algorithm is five times faster than the RSA algorithm, but its average occupancy rates of CPU and RAM are respectively equal to 17% and 11% of RSA algorithm. Comparing to RSA, WSNs-ECC can save more power, prolong the survival time, and enhance the quality of real-time service for resource-restrained WSNs

Abstract - The present acoustic study aims to explore the role of the first language phonetic categories in the second language learning by examining Uyghur speakers’ perception of vowels in Standard Chinese. The perception experiment is computer controlled with the software E-Prime. 30 Uyghur university students as well as 30 Han Chinese students participated in the experiment. The findings show that although the Uyghur students have learned Standard Chinese for many years, they are still significantly poorer and slower in perceiving the vowels than the Han Chinese students; and the Uyghur students are better and quicker in perceiving some of the Chinese vowels but poorer and slower in perceiving some others. It can be concluded that the first language phonological system plays an important part in the second language perception

A Transformation Approach of Business Process Model Based on Rich
Semantic
by Jin Li, Dechen Zhan, Lanshun Nie
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2333-2342
Abstract
- A large number of enterprise business process models have many typical
business patterns with rich semantics. These rich semantic business
patterns can simplify transformation definition, raise transformation
efficiency, and improve transformation quality. However, current model
transformation methods do not focus on these rich semantic patterns.
Therefore, we propose a transformation approach based on rich semantic
patterns for the transformation of business process models. Firstly, we
use rough set theory to (semi-) automatically discover and extract rich
semantic business patterns in business process models; secondly, we make
these rich semantic business patterns as transformation units to
construct transformation rules; finally we implement model
transformation using the transformation patterns. We provide a
corresponding algorithm to detect rich semantic transformation patterns
and construct transformation rules. We also provide three measurement
indicators of transformation rules to support selecting proper rules
from many rules which meet transformation requirement. Four kinds of
experiments are given for the validation of the proposed approach.

Abstract - A novel 4-UPS-UPU spatial 5-Degree of freedom parallel robot was introduced. The stationary platform of the parallel robot is connected with the moving platform by the same four UPS (universal joints-prismatic pairs-spherical joints) driving limbs and a UPU (universal joints-prismatic pairs- universal joints) driving limb. In order to grasp the dynamic characteristics of 4-UPS-UPU spatial parallel robot with multiple clearance joints, and provide the important theoretical base of the optimization design and the vibration control for 4-UPS-UPU parallel robot, the dynamics modeling and analysis for the parallel robot with multiple clearances were realized. The virtual prototype of 4-UPS-UPU parallel robot with multiple clearances was constructed by Adams while the driving limbs, the moving platform and stationary platform of parallel robot were treated as rigid bodies. Based on the virtual prototype with clearances, the dynamic behaviors, including kinematics output response and contact force of joints element, were obtained. The simulation results show that the dynamic model with clearances proposed can indicate the dynamic characteristics of parallel robot, the joints clearance and friction are demonstrated to have strong impact on system kinematics and dynamics

A survey-based quantitative approach is used to examine the effects of online shopping environment, product value, and service quality on online customer experience, as well as the moderating role of consumer goals. With the data collected in China, a multiple regression analysis is conducted to test the hypotheses. The findings suggest that online shopping environment, product value, and service quality would positively affect online customer experience. Furthermore, it is found that consumer goals moderate the influence of online shopping environment and service quality on customer experience, but it did not support that consumer goals moderated the impact of product value on online customer experience. The results give guidance to e-retailers that which variables they should pay attention to and how to effectively use the factors of online customer experience to develop strategies

Promote Cooperation to Forward Packets in Multi-Hop Wireless Networks
by Kun Yu, Sanyue Bu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2360-2366
Abstract - The availability of multi-hop network depend on the cooperation among nodes. Reputation is a typical incentive scheme to enforce the peers in the network to relay packets of others. But the scheme suffers from a regular problem called second-ordered free-riding which can be applied by selfish peers to exploit others by avoid punishing the cheaters. Obviously, if most of the nodes play this strategy, the cheater will free ride without any cost and become the winner in the packet forwarding game. So only the reputation model which can distinguish malicious behaviors from justicial punishments is incentive compatible and be used in P2P punishment structures. In the paper the interaction is regarded in an evolutional game theory model and the system transformation is described by dynamical equations. It is deduced that first-ordered reputation cannot guarantee the cooperation. A continuous second-ordered reputation is proposed and two service rules are analyzed. It is deployed in an Ad hoc network then. The simulation shows the efficiency of the scheme with respect to availability in the presence of adversary

Abstract
- According to the problem that the speed of electromagnetic
Interference (EMI) manual system is slow, an intelligent measurement
system is designed for EMI measurement based on wavelet analysis and
LabVIEW. With the characteristic of noise given, it can be suppressed by
threshold function in wavelet-domain, and the pure electromagnetic
radiation can be obtained. It introduces the constituting of system,
testing principle, software structure, and solves the hard problems and
key techniques such as hardware’s controlling, algorithm’s fast
convergence and compatibility of software. Because the signal includes
the ambient noise, the wavelet analysis is applied to filter the noise
and gain the real conducted electromagnetic interference. Comparing with
the other traditional apparatuses and the manual testing, the system

Multi-Scale Segmentation for High Resolution Remote Sensing Imagery Using
Multiphase Level Set Framework
by Yang Yun, Guangchun Fu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2394-2400
Abstract
- For the difficulty of analyzing remotely sensed imagery with high
spatial resolution from Quickbird, Geoeye-1 satellites etc., the paper
proposes a multi-scale segmentation approach. Specifically, an image can
be initially over-segmented into unknown number of homogeneous regions
at the finest scale after image clustering is performed using Gaussian
multiphase level set model proposed in our previous work. Then those
selected segments, with smaller area (as a measure of segmentation
scale) than a given threshold, are merged to their neighbors according
to a similarity principle, and class labels of the merged segments are
updated at the same time. Thus, a partition of the given image at a
coarser scale can be achieved. Furthermore, image segmentations at
different spatial scales can be performed if scale threshold T is
changed. Experiments on Quickbird multispectral imagery covering Wuhan
city and quantitative comparisons with mean shift, multi-resolution
method adopted in eCognition software are carried. Conclusions can be
drawn that our proposed method shows better precision and an effect
approximated to human vision in multi-scale segmentation for high
resolution remotely sensed imagery. It can be viewed as a candidate of
multi-scale image segmentation methods.

Efficient and Robust Hash Table for Connection Management in High-speed Networks
by Jinyuan Zhao, Bing Xiong, Zhenhui Li
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2408-2417
Abstract - The continual growth of network traffic rates has driven an increasing demand that hash table for network connection management must perform at fast speeds for real-time packet processing. This paper proposes an efficient and robust hash table, PRH-MTF (Pseudo Random Hashing-Move To Front, to maintain large numbers of simultaneous connections in high-speed networks. A hash function PRH is designed by computing connection identifier with selected operators in consideration of algorithmic complexity attacks. To resolve hash collision efficiently, we apply the MTF heuristic to improve the classical chaining resolution in virtue of network traffic locality. The proposed PRH-MTF hash table is employed to implement connection management, and its average search length is analyzed with packet train model as packet arrival pattern. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the PRH-MTF hash table under diverse conditions with real high-speed network traffic. Experimental results indicate that the PRH-MTF hash table performs better than the traditional IPX-SC one in terms of efficiency and robustness

Independent Motion Region Detection of Freely Moving Cameras in 3D Scenes
by Dong Zhang, Ping Li
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2418-2424
Abstract - This paper presents a method to detect independent motion regions in image sequences captured by freely moving cameras in 3-D scenes. The main contribution is that it proposes a sparse background tracking scheme to get the sparse background/foreground models consistently. It uses 3D motion segmentation methods to segment the feature point trajectories of consecutive frames into different motions and updates the sparse background/foreground models consecutively by examine the matching rates between previous models and the current segmented feature point trajectory sets. This process enables the method to work in 3D scenes which could be totally changed through the image sequence, while most other methods could only work with pre-modeled scenes or with cameras that move in a limited range. The proposed method was tested on various challenging image sequences captured by freely moving cameras and results show that it is very effective and robust.

Computer Detection of Density for Woven Fabric Based on Texture Extraction
by Xiuchen Wang, Xiaojiu Li
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2425-2430
Abstract
- In order to correctly detect the density of complex texture fabric, a
new algorithm based on texture extraction method is proposed in this
paper. Firstly, the woven fabric image is processed by linear
enhancement algorithm, and the gray image of fabric is transferred to
texture matrix only including two characteristic values. Secondly, a
formula which could analyze the number of weft and warp yarns each row
or column is constructed according to texture proportion deduction
method, the texture matrix is transformed to density matrix which could
show the distributing rule of weft yarns and warp yarns. At last,
according to density matrix, weft density and warp density are analyzed
by calculating the number of weft yarns and warp yarns. The experimental
results show that this method can recognize woven fabric density
correctly and rapidly with low calculation.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2453-2460
Abstract
- Based on the analysis of the features of network traffic, which are
self-similar, non-linear, and multi-scale, a short-term prediction model
for network traffic is set to improve the network service and provide an
effective analytical method for its optimized controlling. In this
model, the network traffic is decomposed into different bands by
self-adaptive time-frequency localized analysis and the improved Mallat
algorithm. After de-noising at different thresholds, the wavelet
components of non-stationary random process at the sub-bands are
transformed to stable series by differential processing. Then ARMA model
is used to predict the stable processing components, and the results are
reconstructed by wavelet analysis to get the traffic prediction. The
experimental result shows this method is simple, convenient, and with a
high accuracy at short-term prediction.

An extended
Transaction model based on THP protocol
by Hai Liu, Jianwei Zhang, Pan Deng, Shilong Ma
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2466-2471
Abstract
- In large scale collaborative systems tremendous amount of various
equipment run cooperatively in a certain relatively vast area. Involved
with a large number of transaction activities and processing a quite
different environment, these systems need appropriate transaction
management different from its traditional counterparts in many different
ways. First, more flexible working target makes higher availability of
alternative resources in the system. Second, resource providers are more
intelligent and can judge for themselves whether to provide resources to
the transaction initiator. Third, different from data manipulation, the
impact of device operation is often irreversible. Due to these
characteristics, we propose an extension model based on THP protocol and
add a phrase of coordination before transaction execution. What is more,
we abandon FIFO booking algorithm of THP and introduce the concept of
Transaction Success Probability and Compensation Cost to optimize the
calculation. Experimental data indicate that extended THP transaction
model can significantly improve the efficiency of resource allocation
and reduce compensation consideration.

Empirical Analysis on the Performance of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Firms
by Heping Zhong
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2472-2479
Abstract
- This paper examines how organizational slack influences the
performance of pharmaceutical and chemical firms by using empirical
analysis based on the data get from 47 real firms. The result shows that
the relationship between organizational slack and the performance of
pharmaceutical and chemical firms is inverse N-shaped, and task
orientation moderates this relationship in the same direction. The
results broadly demonstrate that relationships differ based on industry
circumstances and organizational slack. Additionally, this study is the
first to empirically identify an inverse N-shaped relationship between
slack and performance, indicating that, in certain industry
circumstances, little and much slack is bad for performance. Moreover,
this paper also studies the moderating effects of firm management style
on the relationship between organizational slack and performance for the
first time. Overall, results highlight the importance of additional
research into intervening factors impacting the slack–performance
relationship.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2480-2488
Abstract
- With the continuous exploration and development of space, more
extensive use of the electromagnetic spectrum and diversity and
high-speed of target all lead to electromagnetic environment becoming
more complex. Traditional radar transmits single waveform, lacks
flexibility and hardly adapt to complex working environment. In this
paper, we use stochastic dynamic programming model of waveform selection
and propose an approximate dynamic programming (ADP) method in waveform
selection. This method can increase the flexibility of radar and
different waveform can be transmitted according to different
environment. In simulation, we compare ADP method, fixed waveform and
the optimal waveform selection scheme. Simulation results show that the
uncertainty of state estimation using ADP method is less than that using
fixed waveform and it approaches the optimal waveform selection scheme.
Finally, the whole paper is summarized.

new method based on ECC homomorphic encryption. The method can protect
end-to-end data privacy in the process of addition or multiplication
data aggregation. Compared to current other private data aggregation
methods, the proposed method has better privacy protection performance
than other both end-to-end methods and hop-by-hop methods. Besides, the

Abstract
- The corresponding fault signature waveform of the main generator terminal output changes before many aircraft generator failures occur. Therefore, detection and analysis of the output waveform change is an effective measure for diagnosing the interior fault of the aircraft generator. In this work, aiming at the basic fault characteristics, the simulation of generator fault characteristics at the three-phase unbalanced situation, through switching the general model to the phase-domain model of the generator, is put forward. The simulation results show that the model more accurately reflects the normal and fault operation of the aircraft generator.

Computer-Aided Damage Identification for Metal Structure of Bridge Erecting Machine Based on Modal Parameters
by Liying Wang, Shaopu Yang
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2514-2519
Abstract
- Using the metal structure of TLJ900 bridge erecting machine as an example, this paper takes its natural frequency and vibration model as indexes of damage detection, the frequency variation and the vibration model are analyzed in different damage positions and different damage degree. The simulation results demonstrate that the first ten order vibration models under different damage positions are no less than those of undamaged positions, therefore, the vibration model is difficult to identify the damage of structure, but the damage positions and damage degree can be evaluated according to the frequency variation. The frequency variation is small when the damage is slight for the single crack damage, and vice versa. Moreover, the frequency can be obtained quickly and accurately. So, the frequency variation can be used to identify damage even the damage is serious.

by Qianjin Zhao, Jie Qiao, Xianwen Fang
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2534-2539
Abstract
- The most stable formula for a rational Hermite interpolation is the barycentric interpolation. The core problem is to choose the optimal weights. In this paper, we focus on the barycentric rational Hermite interpolation optimization algorithm. The optimal weights are obtained based on the Lebesgue constant minimizing. Specifically, the weights as decision variables, the minimizing Lebesgue constant of the barycentric rational Hermite interpolation is given for the objective function of optimization algorithm, for ensuring that the barycentric rational Hermite interpolation satisfies the interpolation conditions and without poles and unattainable points, the weights should satisfy a series of constraint conditions. Then the solution of the optimization algorithm can be obtained by the software LINGO. Further, we show how the weights in barycentric rational Hermite interpolation can be chosen so as to preserve shape. The simulation experiments are given to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the new optimization algorithm.

Abstract
- In order to overcome the shortcomings of low image compression ratio
and the low speed of genetic algorithm to search for the optimal fractal
image compression encoding, and to improve the compression rate of
fractal image compression transformation, the author proposes an image
compression algorithm based on gene expressions in this paper. The main
idea of this algorithm is to conduct compression transformation of
binary image and to reveal the gene of binary image, the chromosome
structure and encoding presentation, as well as the fitness function of
image compression; finally, to optimize the selection, variation,
insertion, genetic transformation, genetic recombination and other
genetic evolution operations of algorithm based on gene expression. The
results of simulation experiments prove that the improved algorithm is
excellent in global optimization, thus it is an effective digital image
compression algorithm to solve the problems of low-speed coding and
compression as well as low compression ratio.

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2566-2573
Abstract
- With the market competition becoming increasingly fierce, M&A becomes
an enterprise competition means which requires accurate and reasonable
enterprise value assessment. Now, cost method and income approach are
the main assessment methods in China. In the prediction of the future
return of income approach, the evaluators take the quantitative and
qualitative factors into account. However, there are no specific
mathematical models to predict and test in the assessment, so the
expected revenue forecast has a large uncertainty. According to the iron
and steel industry data, we use Eviews software and establish a net
profit forecast model to analyze the expected return. And we analyze the
influencing factors impacted corporate value and future profitability,
in order to get iron and steel industry net profit forecast model. The
enterprise management plays an important role in enterprise value
assessments as well as the impact of economic crisis, and they are of
great significance to enterprise value assessment and corporate
management.

On
Duality in Multiobjective Fractional Programming Problems
by Xiaoyan Gao
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2574-2581
Abstract
- The aim of this paper is to deal with a class of nonsmooth
multiobjective fractional programming problems with inequality
constraints using the powerful tool of new generalized invexity. With
the intent of extending most of theoretical results in mathematical
programming, after a deep investigation on the invex functions, a new
kind of generalized invexity, which called
(b,α)- ρ -(η,θ) -invexity,
are firstly defined where the functions involved are locally Lipschitz
by means of the concepts of generalized Clarke directional derivative
and generalized subgradient. The new invexities generalize several known
invexity type properties. In addition, the Mond-Weir type dual model for
the nonsmooth multiobjective fractional programming problem is
formulated and the weak, strong and strict converse duality theorems
relating the problem and the dual problem are established and proved
based upon the assumptions of the new generalized invex functions. To
the best of our knowledge such results have not been done till now, and
obtain authentic extensions of previously known duality results in
multiobjective fractional programming

Palm Print Recognition Algorithm on Geometric Invariant Theory
by Huifen Liao
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2582-2585
Abstract
- This paper studies the palm print recognition in the identity
authentication system. Aiming at the disadvantages that the identity
authentication system based on the biometric of the non-contact sensor
is easily disturbed by the deformation; the research puts forth a fusion
algorithm with characteristics of geometric rotation invariance and
straight line to improve the accuracy of palm print recognition
effectively. In the first place, extract two characteristics SIFT and
LOFO from the palm print image and based on which matching is under
process to get a match. Next, combine two matches by fusion algorithm to
get the final match. The advantage of this approach is to provide
accurate recognition effectively to eliminate problems caused by
rotation and scaling. The Gabor filtering algorithm applied in original
images can extract much more characteristic information, which is
conducive to the final recognition. This approach can be applied in both
individual identity recognition and authentication.

A Numerical Solution for Large Deformation of Compliant Cantilever Beams under
Combined Loads
by Xuefeng Yang, Wei Li, YuFei Liu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2598-2602
Abstract
- Cantilevered beam theory is the basic method for the study of output
displacement of compliant mechanisms. In order to analyze the larger
deformation of cantilever beams with geometric non-linearity under
combined end loads, the Euler-Bernoulli theory was employed to build the
large deflection differential equation of cantilever beams, and a simple
and accurate series solution is obtained by homotopy analysis method
(HAM), which avoided the complex calculation of transcendental
functions. The rotation angle, dimensionless horizontal and vertical
coordinates are calculated by HAM and compared with exact solutions
obtained by elliptic integral. This analytic method provides a
convenient and straightforward approach to calculate the horizontal and
vertical coordinates of a cantilever beam with large deformation. The
results show that the HAM method is effective and the analytical
solutions are accurate for most practical engineering applications,
which can be used for further analyzing of the larger deformation of
cantilever beams with geometric non-linearity and optimizing the
structure of compliant mechanisms.

Affinity Propagation Clustering Algorithm Based on Fuzzy Evaluation
by Hui Fu, Xiaoyong Liu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2603-2607
Abstract
- Affinity Propagation algorithm is a novel clustering algorithm, which
is presented in 2007. This algorithm uses message passing mechanism to
cluster. In Affinity Propagation clustering algorithm, the value of
preference is an important factor and is often manually established in
advance. It is obvious that the clustering results have a certain degree
of subjectivity and human error in traditional Affinity Propagation
algorithm. In the study of clustering performance evaluation, clustering
validity evaluation is introduced into the algorithm, and clustering
algorithm can determine automatically the number of categories through
cluster validity judgment. This paper discusses the application of fuzzy
clustering validity evaluation in AP algorithm and proposes the improved
adaptive Affinity Propagation algorithm based on fuzzy evaluation. This
paper combines fuzzy evaluation method in the study of cluster validity
assessment with Affinity Propagation clustering algorithm and obtains
automatically the optimum value of preference. The numerical result
shows that the new algorithm is better than traditional Affinity
Propagation clustering algorithm.

by Xi Li, Zhigang Hu, Chaokun Yan
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2608-2615
Abstract
- The reliability of a Grid resource site will affect the execution
performance of tasks on the site, which will bring effect on the queuing
time of other tasks on this site. M/M/C repairable queuing system is
adopted to establish a comprehensive evaluation model, which is used to
describe the reliability and dynamic processing capacity of Grid
resource in multi-cluster environment. This model considers not only the
possible failures of Grid resource, but also the dynamic workloads of
resource sites, which makes it be close to practical Grid systems. On
the basis of the resource reliability evaluation model, a queuing time
aware dynamic Grid workflow scheduling model and the corresponding
algorithm is proposed. The QTADGWS algorithm uses the list based method,
and tries to achieve great performance by overlapping data transfer time
and queuing time. The simulation experimental results indicate that
QTADGWS could achieve better performance on makespan and average waiting

by Caiyin Wang
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2622-2627
Abstract
- The flooding spams consume a large number of server resources and
bring great harms to the user's normal use. At present, the spam
filtering technology which we always use is based on the naive Bayesian
model. Because of the extremely complex Chinese semantic environment and
naive Bayesian algorithm’s easily deceiving, naive Bayesian algorithm is
not very good at Chinese spam filtering. Therefore, we propose one kind
of spam filtering method based on SVM classification and RBF neural
network. Experimental results show that this algorithm can filter
Chinese spam more quickly and more efficiently compared with other spam
filtering methods.

by Ru Zhou, Wei Zhang
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2634-2638
Abstract
- Through presenting the characters of high-rise building fire and
evacuation and analyzing the faults of some evaluating methods of safe
evacuation, an appropriate evaluation model, based on the overlaying of
information, combining grey relational evaluation and Delphi, is
established. And the relative Euclid nearness and the membership degree
are used to improve the two main defects of the common grey relative
model: the integrity and the relevance. Then an improved safety
evaluation model was developed to obtain the safety evacuation degree
and the most demanding improving factors. For getting more accurate
evaluation result, Delphi is applied to obtain the weighting, which
could reflect the most important factor in high-rise building fires at
the present stage. Then an example is introduced to verify the
feasibility of improved evaluation model.

Cognitive Radio Networks

Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2650-2654
Abstract
- The activities of primary users affect the channel quality in
Cognitive Radio networks. And the available spectrum holes show
different characteristics which vary over time. In this paper, we assume
that primary users arrive at each channel with Poisson Point Process (P.P.P.)
and occupy the channel for a random duration according to exponential
distribution. We map a cognitive radio channel to a one dimension
Poisson Boolean Model, and consider the characteristic of spectrum holes
under this model. We introduce the connectivity of spectrum holes to
measure the time duration that secondary users can occupy licensed
channels before getting interrupted. Then we study the waiting time of
secondary users for spectrum holes by percolation theory, and obtain the
upper bound on mean duration that a secondary user waits for spectrum
holes in multi-channel cognitive radio networks.

Abstract
- Agile Earth Observation Satellites (AEOS) system will be an important

Networks
by Chuanan Yao, Yongchang Yu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2690-2695
Abstract
- Accurate forecasting of wind speed is important for the economic and
secure operation of wind power systems. In order to overcome the
randomness of wind and improve the accuracy of short-term wind speed
forecasting, a combination forecasting model of short-term wind speed
based on wavelet transform and radial basis function (RBF) neural
network is presented in this paper. First, using wavelet transform, the
wind speed time series is decomposed and reconstructed into the
sub-sequences of different frequency bands, then these sub-sequences are
input into RBF networks for training and forecasting, respectively. The
efficiency of the proposed method has been evaluated using an actual set
of data recorded from a wind farm of Inner Mongolia in North China.
Results of the actual wind speed forecasting show, in comparison with
ARMA method and conventional RBF networks, the prediction accuracy of
the combination forecasting model has been greatly improved, can be used
as short-term wind speed prediction.

Abstract
- In order to solve the problem that the snake model isn’t convergent to
the concave edges of object region during image segmentation; a snake
image segmentation algorithm based on the firefly algorithm is put
forward in this paper. Firstly, the traditional snake model is improved
by adding the centripetal force, and it has the characteristics of
convergence to the concave edges of object region; Secondly, the initial
contour of object is converged coarsely using the improved Snake model;
Finally, the firefly algorithm which has the good ability of finding the
global best value is adopted for the imprecise convergence contour to
search the real edges of the object region and complete the process of
image segmentation. The experimental results show that this algorithm
can overcome the shortcoming that the snake model is easy to fall into
local extremes and not convergent to the concave edges of object region
and the accuracy of the segmentation results is also improved.

In order to make the autonomous vehicle drive smoothly in the obstacle environment, a curvature-continuous trajectory planning method was introduced. The method takes advantage of the vehicle model’s differential flatness property and makes use of B-spline curves to parameterize the flat output in the output space. The method imposes the vehicle’s beginning and end position constraints, obstacle avoidance constraints, curvature constraint and yaw velocity constraint such that the trajectory is curvature-continuous and the vehicle can track the planned trajectory smoothly. The optimum trajectory is obtained by computing the restrained optimization problem of B-spline curve’s parametric coefficient. The real vehicle experiment results demonstrate the planning method is reasonable and feasible. The trajectory’s curvature is continuous and the vehicle can follow the trajectory smoothly

Signals
by Xiangyang Jin, Xiangyi Guan, Lili Zhao, Hanlin Yang, Ming Pang,
Tiefeng Zhang
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2740-2744
Abstract - Based on the traditional spectral analysis method, the blind source separation technology has been employed to conduct the vibration source separation for the aircraft engine vibration signals. At the same time, the blind source separation theory has been also introduced and the feasibility of its application in the processing of aero-engine vibration signals has been also discussed. Afterwards, the excessive vibration problem of some turbofan engine has been conducted the fault diagnosis analysis. Finally, the Independent Component Analysis algorithm has been adopted to analyze the vibration signals and the vibration source signals of engine have been also separated. It is indicated that the technology which combines the independent component analysis and the spectral analysis in the process of discussing the vibration signals of engine can effectively separate the vibration source signals and improve the accuracy of fault diagnosis

Data Correlation by Means of Detrended Fluctuation Analysis
by Keqiang Dong, You Gao, Changjun Zhu
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2745-2749
Abstract
- This paper gives a detailed analysis to the correlation and
cross-correlation characteristics for aeroengine dynamics. By applying
the detrended fluctuation analysis, we find that the detrended
fluctuation function of the aeroengine series follows a power-law, ,
where the parameter , called correlation exponent, represents the
correlation properties in signals. Specially, the correlation property
of the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and engine fan speeds (N1 and N2)
are similar.
Further, we consider the cross-correlation of the aeroengine time
series. Interestingly, the properties of detrended cross-correlation
analysis function between exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and engine fan
speeds (N1) is analogous to the functional properties obtained by
exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and engine fan speeds (N2). These results
indicate that the correlation and cross-correlation features exist in
the aeroengine system

RTW Tool Application to Configure RBF Neural Network PID Controller of Turntable
Servo System
by Yanmin Wu, Chun Huang, Wei Deng, Guangzhao Cui
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2750-2754
Abstract
- The conventional PID controller is mostly effective for linear or
nearly linear control systems. However, turntable servo system is highly
nonlinear and uncertainty plants, nonlinear PID controllers are needed
in order to satisfactorily control this system. An adaptive neural
network PID control system is proposed in which the Radial Basis
Function neural network (RBF) is implemented as a controller. The RBF
neural network PID controller avoids model dependence of the
conventional PID, improves the low speed performance of the turntable
system. A semi-physical simulation is conducted by using the MATLAB RTW
tool. The simulation results show that the turntable servo system with
RBF neural network PID controller exhibits robustness and good
adaptation capability which can be practically implemented.

Constrained
Bi-Objective Optimization with Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization
by Lianfeng Wang, Jianshe Song, Jiping Cao, Xiaoyan Li
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2762-2772
Abstract
- This paper introduces a hybrid bi-objective particle swarm
optimization algorithm for solving constrained bi-objective optimization
problems. Firstly, we proposed a fast strategy towards non-dominated set
construction for reducing the computational cost, and an adaptive
threshold value is proposed. The infeasible particles whose total
violation of constraints are less than the threshold and not dominated
by the feasible non-dominated solutions will be put into non-dominated
set. This strategy can exploit the information hidden in infeasible
region, and increase the quality of Pareto set. Secondly, based on
adaptive grid technology and crowding distance sorting, a hybrid
mechanism for global leader selection and diversity maintenance is
designed. When the individual leader is updated, we improve the
stochastic ranking method for handling constraint. The method can lead
the population in the direction where new better particles will be
found. Moreover, we adopt a novel mutation operator with differential
evolution’, which is capable of keeping a balance between exportability
and exploitability. Experimental results performed on several
constrained bi-objective optimization benchmark problems shows that the
proposed scheme has good efficiency.

by Huafeng Xu, Yongli Bai
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2773-2778
Abstract
- In the situation of considering probability distribution, using the
new definition of grey number, we propose the operation methods of grey
numbers based on their probability distribution. The operation of
discrete grey number and the continuous grey number has been mainly
studied. With several examples we explain the validity of this method,
finally it indicates that this method can describe the grey number
operation result appropriately. It will have broad application prospects
in computer such as information management and network and
communication.

An
Improved Multi-Hop Communication Algorithm Based on SEP Protocol
by Chengzhi Long, Yixing Li, Yihong Li
Vol. 7. n. 5, pp. 2779-2784
Abstract
- One of the key points of network routing design is power management.
The paper summarizes the transmitting routing model of SEP, and finds
that although the SEP protocol is a low power and adaptive lamination
route algorithm, it might lead to overload of some cluster head nodes.
Considering the limited energy of sensor nodes in wireless sensor
network, multi-hop routing algorithm (MH-SEP) of cluster heads based on
SEP is proposed. A shortest inter-cluster multi-hop routing is formed
for communication between cluster heads and the base station, which
avoids using low energy cluster heads. Simulation results demonstrate
that compared with SEP this novel protocol is more efficient to save
energy of consumption; it prolongs the lifetime of the network and
increases the throughput of the network.
