Abstract

In this work inelastic collisions of a of monoenergetic electron beam with praseodymium atoms leading to the formation of singly charged praseodymium ions in excited states (excitation with simultaneous single ionization) were experimentally studied. This process studied by the method of the extended crossing atomic and electron beams with registration of the optical signal of excited atoms. At an incident electron energy of 30 eV, in present experiment 146 excitation cross sections were measured. In the studied process, the singlet, triplet, and quintet levels of PrII are excited. In the range of electron energies E = 0 - 200 eV, optical excitation functions (OEF) were recorded for transitions from nine even levels (from two triplet and seven quintet). The results obtained can be used as a reference atomic data by solution of the plasma physics problem.
