Abstract

In this research we focus on the propagation of a cloud of solid particles (debris) formed from an explosion-damaged construction using the tool of computer simulation. After the explosion the solid particles interact with an obstacle located at some distance after the place where the explosion occurred. The mathematical model involves the flow of the gas using standard conservation equations, and this part of the model is solved numerically. The model is used to simulate various cases where the influence of different parameters like the value of the pressure of the explosion and the particle size are investigated. The results are presented as snapshots of particle location, and also as the particle total kinetic energy during collision with the obstacle.
