Accurate Modeling of the Eddy Current Effects in Helical Flux Compression Generators Using 2-Dimensional Filamentary Method in Frequency Domain

Abstract


This paper presents an approach to modeling the eddy current effects in helical flux compression generators accurately. This approach based on the 2-dimensional filamentary method in frequency domain. Using matrix representation in frequency domain, the equivalent resistance and inductance of a helical coil which is used in the helical flux compression generators are calculated directly and without calculating the filaments currents. The validation of the presented method has been verified by measurement.
