A study of the Structural, Mechanical and Dielectrical properties of LaBaCu2Oy

Abstract


The LaBaCu2Oy sample was prepared using the solid state reaction. The sample was calcined at 800°C for 6 h, palletized and sintered at 860°C for 24 h. Dielectric constant  and loss by means of capacitance have been investigated with frequencies in the range of 50HZ to 1MHZ for our sample at room temperature. Also, Shore hardness was measured .We observed that dielectric constant and loss decrease slightly with the increase of frequency for our compound. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed a tetragonal structure and the grown LaBaCu2Oy corresponds to the 112 phase with the lattice parameters a, c and c/a were found to 3.783, 8.987 and 2.3758 respectively
