Abstract

The investigation of the existence of chaotic spiking in the dynamics of a semiconductor laser output with an optical feedback using nonlinear optical fiber loop mirror is experimentally demonstrated. The effects of feedback strength on nonlinear system are considered; the bifurcation diagram is extracted as a function of feedback strength. In addition, the effect of direct modulation on chaotic dynamic is reported, the FFT and bifurcation diagram for different modulating frequencies have been shown.
