Fuzzy Inference System Based Robust Digital Image Watermarking in DWT-DCT Domain Using Human Visual System

In this paper a new technique to insert watermark in the cover image in hybrid transform domain using Fuzzy Inference System and Human Visual System (HVS) parameters is proposed. This scheme provides secure image watermarking using Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The cover image is divided into sub bands using DWT and then DCT is applied to the selected subband. The calculated HVS parameters (Luminance and Texture Sensitivities) are given as inputs to the Fuzzy Inference System. The attained weight factor is exploited to modify the mid DCT coefficients based on the watermark bit. Metrics Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC) are used. The proposed watermarking technique is robust and imperceptible to image processing attacks like sharpening, JPEG Compression, rotation, median filtering, and random pixel replacement etc.
