Abstract

There are various modeling techniques used worldwide. Capturing system dynamics with support of appropriate software packages represents a field of study, which is applied in various domains and real-life situations. This paper first introduces particular applications for modeling and simulation of dynamics based on stock-and-flow diagrams. Afterwards, these applications are compared by means of usability evaluation tools, and lessons learned from the evaluation process and modeling and simulation experience are introduced. Therefore, issues like standardization and unification procedures, necessity to capture historical data timelines, or transformation of common speech to a model during conceptualization stage are discussed.
