Abstract

This paper proposes switched inductor Z-source inverter (SL-ZSI) for three phase on-line UPS with high voltage boost ability. The maximum boost control is attained using third harmonic injection. The proposed inverter employs a unique impedance network to couple the main circuit and the power source. SL-ZSI adds two inductors and six diodes to enlarge voltage adjustability. To obtain a high voltage conversion ratio it needs only a shoot through state. SL-ZSI concept can be applied to all dc- to –ac, ac-to-dc, ac-to-ac, and dc-to-dc power conversion. The proposed method is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and the result satisfies the theoretical analysis
