Abstract

This paper proposes a Novel Performance Index (NPI) for sizing and the placement of Distribution Generation (DG) in Distributiion System. This Novel Performance Index extracts the Technical benfits of DG like real power loss reduction, reactive power loss reduction and voltage profile improvement without giving much burden on the system. The proposed algorithm is tested on 33bus Radial Distribution System (RDS) for various load modelling. It is found that NPI gives better results compared to Voltage Stability Index (VSI) or Power Stability Index (PSI).
