Abstract

The objective of this paper is stator winding fault detection in three phase squirrel cage induction motor using Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA). A prototype model of the motor has been designed to study the stator winding faults through simulation and experimentation. Simulation has been carried out using MagNet 6.11.2. The simulated stator winding faults are inter-turn, phase-to-phase, open turn in a phase. The current signatures of simulation and hardware has been compared.
