Abstract

In this paper the mathematical modeling of an 8/6 switched reluctance machine (SRM) is carried out and the performance in motoring mode operation is studied in Matlab/Simulink environment. SRM is a highly nonlinear machine due to variable inductance and frequent switching of phase current so to study the non linear dynamic behaviors in SRM is important to improve the performance. For the variable speed conditions the reference speed is tuned for attaining the required speed. Due to that in 8/6 SRM hardware circuit is designed at close loop condition, with various reference speeds  and  the corresponding performance is investigated
