Abstract

This paper introduces a new approach for design a small electric three phase synchronous generator (3PSG)or three phase alternator. The design is derived from the studies of different types of synchronous machines form wide range of ratings. Examples of different types of synchronous machines are salient and non-salient poles, wound field poles and permanents-magnet poles. Practical experience is also considered in the design. Different classical methods are employed in order to attain the final design. The new methods are derived and being used to analyze and check some of the hidden items in the previous design. This paper only describes the final version of the design.
