Abstract

In developing countries, the priority in the management and control of industrial zones is the establishment of hazard and lethality delimitation zones, in the event of a disaster caused by an instantaneous accident such as the BLEVE. This management aims to secure human resources, and to preserve and minimize the damage and losses of goods and constructions by respecting the distances of separation and distance in the sites at risk. These two needs require the realization of a predictive risk study before the construction of industrial sites, and the location of safety barriers related to the distances of effects of the doses. However, the realization of this type of study requires technical and financial resources that many small industrialists in developing countries do not have. The objective of this manuscript is to provide an alternative means to the realization of a risk study, and that by realizing graphical abacuses containing the characteristic curves of the thermal doses, able to provide a delimitation of the zones of lethality and dangers of a fireball generated at the time of the total rupture of a tank containing LPG.
