Automatic Control System for Monitoring Collision, Breakage and Wear of CNC Lathe Tools

Abstract


Reliable and efficient operation of CNC lathes is possible only if they are equipped with technical diagnostic tools and automatic control systems are created on their basis. At the same time, the purpose of automatic diagnostics of the CNC lathes operation is to quickly identify possible emergency situations during their operation, including unforeseen collisions with obstacles, breakage, and wear of tools, with subsequent interruption of the cutting process. The article describes an automatic system for monitoring the collision, breakage, and wear of a CNC lathe tools, discloses its composition, and when implementing the algorithm for recognizing emergency situations, it is proposed to use binary parameters when forming the event matrix, which made it possible to reduce the time and increase the efficiency of identifying the onset of an emergency. The practical implementation of the system is described.
