Force Loading Analysis of a Cylindrical Self-Braking Inverse Gearing

Abstract


This article presents the force loading analysis of a cylindrical self-braking inverse gearing with involute profile of teeth with external engagement. The considered gearing has been investigated in a traction mode of a forward run and in a «brake release» mode. It is shown that the «brake release» mode of a cylindrical self-braking inverse gearing is always feasible. Moreover, the application of the considered gearing in the drive allows to combine the functions of motion transmission and automatic braking after switching off the engine and to escape the use of intermediate gearwheels.
