Abstract

This paper is devoted to the comparative analysis of the spring drives with energy recovery compared with conventional drives (electric, hydraulic, pneumatic ones). The comparison has been made with taking into account the energy consumption, the power output, and the maximum dimension of the instrument along the travel path. The advantages of the spring drives have been demonstrated regarding the energy consumption. The spring drives characteristics and ratio of acceleration/brakeage time to the specified displacement time have been determined, providing the minimum energy consumption.
