Abstract

Conserving energy has become the biggest issue in the present scenario. Due to the development and modernization, the electricity demand is increasing at high extent. The global fulfillment of this demand without any harmful effect on the environment is possible by using green free electrical energy from living plants. The reason behind generating power by using living plants is that it is available all over the world, compared to other sources like chemical or thermal sources. This paper presents how to collect sustainable green power from living plants using basic techniques. Living-plants are proven to have a potential as renewable energy source by embedding pairs of electrodes into them allowing the flow of ions and hence generating electricity. Multiple tests on various plants using different pairs of electrodes concluded that the highest voltage output is produced by Hibiscus rosa-sinensis using Copper and zinc pair of electrodes. This paper also contains evidence of principle, future perspectives and applications of the power output from the plant, a comprehensive knowledge regarding the mechanisms of energy generation.
