Abstract

A fluid-pipe interaction model is derived for estimation of critical flow velocities causing instability in multi-layered filament wound FRP pipelines resting on elastic supports. The model takes into account the anisotropic properties of the pipe’s material, the elastic properties of the pipeline’s supports and flow parameters. Using the motion equation, transfer matrices are derived for the pipeline’s spans and supports. A representative example is solved and discussed.
