Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to review the effect of the orientation of short fibers in a thermoplastic matrix by numerical simulation in order to predict in the future the orientation during the injection of the molding composite polymer. In general, the fiber orientation involves analyzing coupled flow, temperature, free-motion surface and the kinematic fibers of the equation for the flow direction. The kinematics of a group of fibers are described in terms of second order tensor orientation. Models of Jeffery, Folgar-Tucker and the kinematics recent fiber orientation are discussed.
