Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze a three-dimensional simulation of the turbulent flow around two obstacles models; prismatic obstacle and model prismatic obstacle rounded downstream edge. The contribution of this work is to study the effect of the curvature of the downstream edge of the aerodynamic phenomena including the nascent vortex structure in the surrounding of the two studied models obstacles and the length of reattachment XR /H. The governing equations based on k-ω SST model are solved by the finite volume method based on ANSYS CFX code. The velocity profiles and the distribution of the current lines are plotted for a Reynolds number Reh=105.
