An Embedded Biometric Attendance Management System

In this paper, we propose a stand-alone embedded biometric system for attendance management in academic institutions such as universities. The system authenticates students who are authorized to have access to a classroom and records the time of entry of each student for a particular course. This was achieved using the fingerprint recognition technique. The prototype of the system shows that the proposed system is efficient and cost effective by eliminating the exhausting process of manually recording the attendance of each student
