Rotor Magnetic System Selection of a 430 kW Permanent-Magnet Starter-Generator

Abstract


This paper presents a numerical comparison of rotor magnetic systems for the starter-generator of the hybrid power unit from the point of view of inductive dissipation resistances along the longitudinal and transverse axes, analysis of higher harmonics, and loss analysis in the stator and rotor cores, including permanent-magnet losses, analysis of the manufacturing technology of rotor magnetic systems. The discrepancy between experimental data and computer simulation results of 5% indicates the feasibility of the rotor magnetic system analysis. The results of this paper can be useful to scientists and engineers who are engaged in the starter-generator creation for the hybrid power unit, as well as employees of enterprises that are engaged in the production of serial starter-generator for the hybrid power units.
