Electromagnetic Processes in the Rotor Shroud of a High-Speed Magneto-Electric Generator Under Sudden Short-Circuit

The article examines the processes in high-speed magneto–electric generator for a three-phase short-circuit and ways of protection against its effects. The studies account for thermal demagnetization of high-coercivity permanent magnets. The investigations were made into  the feasibility and effectiveness of short-circuit damping shroud shell rotor copper coated fulfilling the function of the damper winding. Developed mathematical tool allows to design the rotor shroud shell to include two types of material.
