Abstract


A Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setup using multi-body-dynamics-based software by MeVea Oy as a real-time simulator of the mechanical parts was built. Setup demonstrated the possibility to test an electric drive with a hydraulic load which was emulated with another electric drive. This enables one to construct different system identification, parameter estimation, control tuning and state monitoring algorithms based on testing in real-time simulation environment without real hydraulic components. The effects of delays in data transfer inside the HIL on the stability of the system were evaluated
