Mobile Commerce Modeling and Building for Small and Medium Enterprises

Abstract


The number of smartphone users in Indonesia is increasing. Business doers, both big and small, start to shift from using e-Commerce to mobile commerce. Mobile commerce is an electronic commerce (e-Commerce) using mobile tools such as mobile phone, smartphone, PDA, notebook, tablet, and etc. Mobile commerce is the integration of e-Commerce and mobile tools that enables customers to perform commerce in a wireless environment. The advantage of using mobile tools in various SME services lies on the mobility and wide reachablity. The aim of this research is to build mobile commerce modeling and prototype that accommodates the needs of Batik Plumpungan SME. The method used in developing mobile commerce is prototyping, with the following phase: requirement model, analysis model, design engineering, implementation, and testing. The result of this research is mobile commerce model and prototype appropriate for Batik Plumpungan SME’s.
