Abstract

Image fusion is a challenging task and fundamental to several modern day image processing applications such as security systems, defense applications and intelligent machines. Efficient fusion algorithms based on dynamic selection of information are proposed in this paper. The proposed methods adopt the Self Organizing Feature Map to transform the images into the desired form for fusion. Due to the property of Self Organizing Feature Maps, there will be no loss of information during fusion and the fused image is free from noises. The algorithms developed have been tested for their efficiency in terms of robustness and quality.
