Abstract

This paper is focusing on the real-time simultaneous estimation of the rotor flux and electric parameters of the induction motor using an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). To simplify the real-time computation, the EKF is based on a reduced-order discrete-time model. This model offers many advantages for on-line applications without losing the estimation accuracy. This estimation is tested using simulation and experimental data. Experimental on-line tests show the performance of this approach by introducing variations to the stator resistance of an induction motor of 2.2 kW using a DSP TMS320C31
