Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the Doubly-Fed Induction Generator’s behavior under faulty conditions and to achieve fault diagnosis and identification. The faults that are investigated in this work take place in the part of the back-to-back converter. More specifically, it is investigated how DFIG reacts when an open circuit happens in one or in two IGBTs either in the same leg or in two legs of the Rotor Side Converter in sybsynchronous mode using Matlab/ Simulink. Moreover, a fault diagnosis and identification method using the spectrum of DC link’s current is proposed
