Abstract

In this paper a salient-pole synchronous machine is modeled by an approach of singular perturbations. Experimental determination of synchronous machine parameters is proposed. Frequency response characteristics are plotted in the Gaussian plane to show the transient and sub-transient dynamics. The operational reactances calculated from the global model are compared to those obtained from the reduced model.
