Biographical note of the Editor-in-Chief:
Professor K. M. Liew joined City University of Hong Kong in 2005 as Chair Professor of Civil Engineering. Currently he is the Head of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering.
His research activities encompass computational mechanics, nano-mechanics, materials modeling, multi-scale analysis, and large-scale simulation and visualization.
In recent years, Professor Liew’s research group has been actively involved in the theoretical and computational research in nanomechanics employing the multiscale method.
He has published over 550 SCI journal articles. His current h-index is over 50 and he is cited by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) as one of the highly cited researchers in engineering.
He is a Fellow of ASME, IMechE, IES and HKIE.
