Abstract

Deep foundations are used when the soil is very shallow under the soil surface. The most common types of deep foundations are piles, pillars and cassions. A pile subjected to a lateral loading always poses a problem of interaction soil-structure to answer this problem it is necessary to have an idea on the influence of the characteristic parameters of the soil and the pile, we calculated the slop (i), the deflection (y), moment (M), shear (S), soil reaction (P) using the method proposed by Matlock and Reese. Laterally loaded piles require careful examination and behavioral analysis because the mode of rupture of the structure depends on the rigidity and the resistance of the soil, the rigidity and the resistance of the pile, the moment and the horizontal load applied to the head of the pile. It is difficult to establish a relationship between all the above parameters, so the influence of each parameter on the behavior of the soil-pile structure must be studied. The main objective of the project is to see how the displacement and the moment varies by varying the parameters of the soil and the pile.
