Abstract

This research focuses on the effect of natural pozzolan on the mechanical properties of high performance concretes (HPC) containing local southwest Algerian materials (Bechar area). A portion of ordinary Portland cement was substituted by natural pozzolan (NP) at 10%, 15%, and 20% by weight of binder. The paper primarily considers the characteristics of this material, including their compressive and the flexural strength. It may be concluded that these natural pozzolan, taken from unused fields of the southwest Algerian, can be used as partial cement replacements.
