Abstract

This paper describes a finite-element analysis of 6.1m high Algonquin geogrid reinforced soil retaining wall subjected to earthquake loading. Three earthquake motions were used to investigate the wall performance. The performance of the wall was presented for the lateral displacement, lateral earth pressure and tensile force in the reinforcement layers. The lateral earth pressure, reinforcement force and lateral displacement increased under earthquake loading compared to the end of construction
