Abstract
This paper presents a new ultra wideband circular slot antenna fed by two orthogonal tapered CPW lines to achieve dual polarization characteristic. A strip ended by a small rectangular patch is used to improve the isolation between the two ports of the antenna. A prototype of the proposed antenna is fabricated and measured, the simulated and measured results are presented, and they show a good agreement. With these features, the proposed antenna can be used in UWB systems with polarization-diversity operation.
