Design and Development of a Unique Antenna for Numerous Applications of Satellite Communication Based on Aluminium, Nickel and Copper Materials

Abstract


Unique antenna technology is needed for many satellite communication applications in a variety of communication systems, including military, amateur, and commercial ones. In marine communications, a mast-mounted structure mounted on a submarine is highly desired. For Network-Centric Warfare (NCW) and combined operations, the structure needs a variety of antennas to support the different functions based on the frequency coverage, such as UHF, IRNSS, GPS, GNSS, S-Band, and C-Band. Today, the structure has a variety of antenna systems, including RADAR and periscopes. The amount of area needed for the structure increases when single antenna technology is employed for a single application, but the amount of space on the structure that is really available decreases. There will be fewer antennas on the structure if the same antenna technology is applied to two or more applications. The space on the structure will be freed up as a result of the reduction in antennas and can be utilized for other crucial purposes. In addition, satellites must be used to operate on new submarines. The design of the antenna is a difficult issue for using satellites on submarines, and it must have distinctive qualities such as material selection, circular polarization, greater bandwidth, low VSWR, and a good axial ratio. For a variety of satellite communication applications, including the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System, the Global Navigation Satellite System, and the Global Positioning System, a new design of a dual-wire helix antenna with a bow-tie technique is proposed in this study. The suggested antenna is constructed, experimentally tested, and modelled for a number of critical parameters, including gain, 3 dB beamwidth, VSWR, and axial ratio. To validate the antenna, simulation and experimental data are contrasted.
