A Microstrip on Planar Antenna Designs for Cognitive Radio Applications

Abstract


This paper presents some concerns regarding the dimensions and characteristics of microstrip planar antennas. The primary objective of this body of work is to present the synthesis and optimization of antennas for ultra-wideband systems and reconfigurable antennas for cognitive radio systems, based on evolutionary computation algorithms and swarm intelligence tools. This will be accomplished in order to fulfil the main objective of this work. Several different prototypes of reconfigurable antennas that are capable of operating in CRS have been offered as a result. In addition to uniplanar antennas with CPW power, emphasis was placed on patch antennas in the shape of a circular ring. In particular, this emphasis was placed on patch antennas that were fed by a microstrip line and were provided with a truncated ground plane with a slit. We also spoke about different approaches to changing the ground plane. The antenna configurations discussed in this paper, as well as the applications of those configurations, have been incorporated into simulations of this work, and prototypes have been fabricated using these models.
