Circular Polarization Reconfigurable Antenna Based on Defect Ground Structure for Mid-Band 5G Applications

A novel circular polarization reconfigurable antenna is proposed for mid-band 5G applications. The design depends on Defect Ground Structure (DGS) technique to minimize the effect of diodes and bias circuit on antenna radiation performance. A polygon U-slot is etched in the ground plane in a diagonal position with symmetric arm's length , then two PIN diodes are integrated across every arm in order to divide this long slot into two identical and oriented slots; each one has 0.25
