Abstract
This work consists to give a comparative study between two proposed methods of an extracted road network and its nodes from satellite images of Algeria sites. The proposed methods are founded on the information theory and the mathematical morphology. A model of integration of obtained results in a geographical information system GIS will be presented. It is applied for that the geometrical representation of the images is as near as possible to the reality. The performances of this work were tested on satellite images of Algeria sites. The practical results obtained are in general satisfactory.
