Biographical note of the Editor-in-Chief:
Jordan Hristov is professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Sofia, Bulgaria. Prof. Hristov was appointed as editor-in-chief of IRECHE in November 2008. Prof. Hristov was graduated in 1979 as Electrical Engineer (MS equivalent) at the Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria. His PhD thesis on the magnetically assisted fluidization was awarded by the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in 1995.
The research interests cover the areas of particulate solids mechanics, fluidisation, heat and mass transfer with special emphasis on scaling and approximate solution, fractional calculus, modelling of accidents and safety issues. The main branch of his research is devoted to magnetic field effects of fluidization. Additionally, specific heat transfer topics are at issue, especially to thermal effects in accidents (fire). The recent research areas are devoted to approximate analytical modelling with emphasis on application of fractional calculus and recovery of metal from wastewaters.
Prof. Hristov has more that 135 articles published worldwide in indexed journals and conference proceedings resulting in about 550 citations.
He is a member of several international journals:
- Thermal Science - since 2003
- (China) Particuology –2004-2011 (first term) and 2012-present (second term) as a member of the International Advisory Board.
Since January 2008 the journal appears as Particuology (see www.Sciencedirect.com)
- Communications to Fractional Calculus (since 2012-present) (Asian Academic Publisher Ltd., Hong Kong, China)
He is also Editor-in-Chief of the "International Review of Chemical Engineering - Rapid Communications (IRECHE)".
