Mechanization of the Green Spaces: Comparative Evaluation of the Performances and the Cost-In-Use of Two Types of Lawn Mowers

Abstract
The compared evaluation of performance and cost of green mowers with one or three cut drums (Simplex or Triplex) has been examined by means of field experiments in El Kantaoui golf (Sousse) and Citrus golf (Hammamet). Measures interested field time and effective work time, field efficiency and work speed as well as the operation costs. Results showed that specific times of mowing for Simplex varied from 3.5 to 6.5 h/Ha. Corresponding effective work times range between 2.7 and 4.6 h/ha for an advancing mean speeds of 5.45 km/h. Besides, the registered returns on construction site are spread out, generally, between 65 and 80 %. As for the Triplex, time specific of effective work and construction site were usually, from 1.2 to 1.7 h/Ha and from 1.6 to 2.2 h/ha respectively. The same machine got returns superior to 70 % for the majority of construction sites in average speeds of 4,7 km/h progress. On the other hand, on the plan cost, the Triplex got the low amount, 15.500 TD/ha, against almost 21.000 TD/ha for the simplex
