Biographical note of the Editor-in-Chief:
Dr. Srinivasan Alavandar B.E, M.E, PhD (IIT) is currently working as Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Agni College of Technology, Affiliated to Anna University, India. He has earned his PhD in the field of intelligent control and robotics at Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He received his Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Masters in Control Systems at Alagappa Chettiar College of Engg. & Technology and PSG College of Technology respectively. He has been working more than 10 years in leading engineering institutions including Caledonian College of Engineering Oman, affiliated to GCU, UK.
He has published several papers in peer reviewed, reputed and refereed International Journals and International conferences with high impact factors. He serves as; Associate Editor for International Journal of Computers and Applications and IASTED/ACTA Press Control and Intelligent Systems; Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Electronic Transport; Reviewer for Robotica, Control Engineering Practice, IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science Part C, International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part B, ISA (Instrument Society of America) Transactions, International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Computers & Chemical Engineering etc; and Program Committee Chair for various IEEE conferences.
He is appointed as Technical Committee on Control, The International Association of Science and Technology for Development for the term 2009-2012. His memberships includes; technical committee member on soft computing of IEEE SMCS, senior member of IACSIT, member of International Association of Engineers, executive member of IACSIT Automation and Robotics Society, and member of various IAENG societies.
His biography is included in Marqui’s Who’s Who in the World and The International Biographical Centre Cambridge for his outstanding research contribution in control engineering and he was also a recipient of the award of Ministry of Human Resources and Development Fellowship for his doctoral research. His memberships include Life member, ISTE and Member, IET(UK).
Research Interests
His research interests include computational intelligence; intelligent systems and control; Bio-inspired optimization; congestion control and robotics and automation. He has supervised/supervising students in Modeling, simulation, design & development of control systems. He has published several papers in refereed International Journals and International conferences with high impact factors. His current research interest is on ‘Computational intelligence for autonomous navigation and control of aerial vehicles’ and ‘Computational intelligence for congestion control of Active Queue Management (AQM)’.
