#### Abstract

In this paper, a new approach to define the optimal values of scaling factors, membership functions and rules for fuzzy logic controller based on parameter tuning by genetic algorithm has been proposed. Indeed, these factors are chosen in such a way to obtain good and dynamic response of angular velocity of the dc motor employed. This approach was first tested in simulation to control the speed response by implementing the program in Matlab function to optimize the various fuzzy logic parameters. This algorithm has been successfully applied to control the speed of Quasi Z-Source DC/DC converter driven dc motor with good dynamic and robust response. *Copyright © 2013 Praise Worthy Prize - All rights reserved.*
