Abstract

In this paper a Novel Direct Torque Control (DTC) algorithm for Open End Winding Induction Motor (OEWIM) drive is proposed and simulated. This algorithm gives simple generation of the reference vector for the stator voltage with constant inverter switching frequency. Compared to the other SVPWM algorithm based DTC methods, this algorithm is very simple and has very less mathematical operations, and can be implemented on most existing digital drive controllers. In this new controller technique, torque and stator flux errors are used together with the stator flux angular frequency to generate a reference voltage vector. Simulated results of the novel system are presented and discussed, which shows the simplicity of the algorithm.
