This paper presents online efficient identification and tuning of rotor resistance in the indirect vector control of induction motor. During the normal running and transient conditions the rotor resistance variations occur, it can cause performance deterioration unless it is detected and compensated. In this paper a novel approach for the rotor resistance determination is proposed directly from decoupled stator voltage and currents and the response of speed, torque and currents are examined by including the rotor resistance variations. The proposed method in this paper will definitely overcome the problems related to rotor resistance variations and improves the performance of vector control
