Abstract

Mangrove Ecotourism Wonorejo has much tourism potential that is beneficial for the sustainability of nature and the economy of the surrounding community. Analyzing and empowering the potential of a tourist attraction is an important part of efforts in order to increase the attraction of Mangrove Wonorejo Ecotourism. This research aims to calculate the value of the beach recreation index on a designated tourist attraction and find out how to increase the value of the beach recreation index. The calculation of this index is determined by three parameters, namely the beach index, the knowledge index, and the monetary index. A questionnaire consisting of 18 questions divided into 4 indicators, namely infrastructure, cleanliness, promotion, and community economy has been compiled. Based on the results obtained from the dissemination of questionnaires and live interviews on tourist attractions, Wonorejo Mangrove Ecotourism has received a beach index value of 0.685, a knowledge index of 0.539, and a monetary index of 0.844. The scores have showed that even though the results have been all moderate, knowledge indexes with promotional parameters got the smallest values in the questionnaire. Therefore, the knowledge index here should be done as the focus, and become an evaluation material for managers to use in order to increase the value of the knowledge index. This can be done not only by developing and intensifying promotion through social media but also by actively participating in holding events around tourist attractions in order to attract the attention of prospective visitors. The accuracy of these results depends on the respondent's answer.
