Abstract

This paper discusses the analysis ofSolar tracking system for Low Concentrate Photovoltaic (LCPV) based on mathematical modeling. Mathematical models follow the Moslempraying time schedule on Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. By using mathematical models, LCPVsolar tracking systemcan follow sun movements from sunrise up to sunset. Subuhpraying time is assumed as the sunrise at the00position of LCPVtowards the east, Maghrib praying time at sunset is assumed as the 1800position of LCPV toward the west. The mathematical modeling uses polynomial and linearization approaches. The results show that by using the polynomial approach there is an error of 1 minute. While by using the linearization approach, error times are up to 4 minutes. From this solar tracking method, PV is tested using MPPT.
