Abstract


This paper presents some earthing methods used in medium voltage distribution networks. Single phase to earth fault on substation feeders in some places in Jordan are investigated. This study is performed using real data obtained from the Jordanian electrical power system. In this paper, new protection models are proposed for different cases of nuetrsl earthing such as grounded, ungrounded and compensated neutral. Simulation results for wattmetric and conductance relays methods are drawn. It can be noted that the faults are successfully detected in the networks with high impedance earthing
