go to top   Implicit Space Mapping Approach to Microwave Circuits Design
by  Saeed Tavakoli, Mahdieh Zeinadini, Shahram Mohanna

          Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 626-630

Abstract - Determine of design parameters based on electromagnetic simulations of microwave circuits is an iterative and time-consuming procedure. The space mapping assumes the existence of fine and coarse models. The fine model may be an electromagnetic simulator providing high accuracy whereas the coarse model is typically an equivalent circuit with empirical formulas. In this paper, design parameters for two case-study applications are determined using the implicit space mapping. The main advantage of this technique is that it can decrease the number of fine model evaluations. First, the coarse model is optimized to obtain design parameters satisfying the design objective. Next, a set of auxiliary parameters, which always remain fixed in the fine model, are calibrated in the coarse model to match coarse and fine model's responses. Considering the re-calibrated auxiliary parameters fixed, then, the improved coarse model is re-optimized to obtain new design parameters. Finally, these design parameters are given to the fine model to evaluate its performance. When a satisfactory solution is reached, the procedure is stopped. Case-study applications are a branch-line coupler and a microstrip low-pass filter. Simulation results show that only a few fine model evaluations are sufficient to get satisfactory results for these applications.

go to top   A Hybrid Microphone Array Filter for Speech Enhancement
         by Chih-Chia Yao, Ruo-Wei Hung

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 640-651

Abstract - In this paper, a hybrid filter based on microphone arrays with the assumption of a diffuse noise field is proposed to suppress correlated as well as uncorrelated noise. In the past decade, numerous studies have confirmed the excellent performance of microphone array technology in speech source localization and noise reduction. In the proposed hybrid filter the signals are pre-processed by adaptive wavelet filter and spectral subtraction method. Then microphone array is used to filter the signals. Both the spectral subtraction method and adaptive wavelet thresholding method are highly effective for signal denoising. However, spectral subtraction method is ineffective for low-SNR signals whereas adaptive wavelet thresholding method is ineffective for high-frequency signals. The filtering behavior between adaptive wavelet filter and spectral subtraction method is controlled by a feed-forward fuzzy neural network. Experimental results demonstrate the usefulness and superiority of the proposed hybrid filter compared to other methods of speech signal enhancement using speech quality meaures and speech recognition rate.

go to top   Improvement of ITU-T G.729B VAD Using WDWF and Dynamic Preprocessing

by Hassan Farsi, Mohammad Amin Mozaffarian

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 652-660

Abstract - The purpose of this paper is a new voice activity detector (VAD) algorithm for improving speech detection robustness in low noisy environments and providing better performance of speech recognition systems. This algorithm is applied to ITU-T G.729B standard that is one of the regular standards in VAD systems. In this paper, first, we modify its performance through serving some basic methods like changing LSF coefficient evaluation system by True-Envelope Linear Prediction Coding (TE-LPC) and adaptively calculate energy parameters by Geometrically Adaptive Energy Threshold (GAET) and parallel with statistical decision. At the end, we compare the modified version against the original one using statistical method by Weighted Double-channel Wiener filter (WDWF). The proposed scheme was evaluated on male and female speakers under various noise conditions including white Gaussian noise, vehicle, and multi-talker babble noise. The proposed scheme is compared with the most commonly used VADs in this field, in terms of voice/unvoiced discrimination and in terms of recognition performance when the VAD is used for an automatic speech recognition system. Experimental results demonstrate a sustained advantage over standard VADs such as G.729B and adaptive multi-rate (AMR) standards which were used as a reference, and over the VADs of the advanced front-end for distributed speech recognition.

by Anca Miron, Mircea D. Chindriş, Andrei C. Cziker

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 667-677

Abstract - A virtual instrument dedicated for the classification and analysis of complex electric signals influenced by conducted electromagnetic disturbances is presented. The mathematical support of the software tool is based on classic mathematic methods (Fourier transform, wavelet transform and symmetrical components) and artificial neural networks. The virtual instrument graphical user interface is similar to a physical meter and it is easy to understand and work with. The signals analyzer processes electric signals acquired from power networks and determines the power quality indicators that characterize the non-sinusoidal and unbalanced operation states which may also contain voltage dips.

go to top   Combining Harris Interest Points and the PHOG Descriptor for Object Categorization
         by Reza Hemati, Sattar Mirzakuchaki

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 678-682

Abstract - Bag-of-keypoints representations have recently become popular for visual object categorization owing to their simplicity and good performance. One of the most important parts of this technique is interest point localization and description. Interest points are usually associated with a change of an image property or multiple properties simultaneously. Interest point detectors sample a sparse set of locally stable points which is the basis of bag of keypoints. In this paper, we will evaluate effectiveness of Harris corner detector accompanied by the PHOG descriptor (Harris-PHOG) and compare their results with most commonly used ones, DOG-SIFT and DOH-SURF. The results show that this new approach outperforms the existing methods in object categorization. Also we study the effect of hard assignment in conventional bag of keypoints versus soft assignment in final results. It will be shown that soft assignment has better results than hard assignment.

go to top   Software Development for UML Scenarios: Design, Fusion and Code Generation
by Abdeslam Jakimi, Lahcen Elbermi, Mohammed Elkoutbi

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 683-687

Abstract - The emergence of UML as a standard for modeling systems has encouraged the use of automated software tools that facilitate the development process from analysis through coding. In UML, the static structure of classes in a system is represented by a class diagram while the dynamic behaviour of the classes is represented by a set of sequence or statechart diagrams. To facilitate the software development process, it would be ideal to have tools that automatically design, fusion and generate or help to generate executable code from the models. The goal of this paper is to narrow the gap between UML scenarios and an implemented system. The narrowing of gap is achieved by automatically creating, compositing and generating low-level code from the UML sequence diagrams (use case or service of system).

         by Jian Song, Defa Hu

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 688-691

Abstract - As an emerging technology for multimedia copyright protection, digital fingerprinting achieves to trace pirates by embedding a unique serial number called fingerprint into each distributed copy invisibly. When designing multimedia digital fingerprinting systems, there are two major problems must be addressed. One is how to resist collusion attack launched by some malicious customers, and the other is how to accommodate a lot of customers, since the number of potential customers in multimedia applications is very large. In order to resist the collusion attack, a well known anti-collusion code proposed by Trappe et al is used in our scheme. To increase the system capacity to accommodate a large number of customers, permutation and combination is performed on the original codewords, which will generate a lot of new codewords.

by Min Liu, Wenhua Zeng, Jianfeng Zhao

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 692-699

Abstract - In addition to the need for satisfying several competing objectives, many real-world optimization problems involve objectives, constraints, and parameters which constantly change with time. Therefore, the optimization goal is not only to evolve a near-optimal and diverse Pareto front, but also to track the front as it changes with time. Over the past decade, a number of dynamic evolutionary multi-objective optimization (DEMO) algorithms have been suggested to address the above difficulty dynamic multi-objective optimization problems (DMOP). This paper attempts to provide a comprehensive overview of the related work. Firstly, the problem definition is given. Secondly, some important issues, such as diversity introduction, memory schemes, prediction approaches are investigated. Thirdly, existing DEMO algorithms are presented and discussed. Fourthly, benchmark test problems and performance metrics are presented. Moreover, two DEMO algorithms are compared on two test problems. In the fifth place, some applications of DEMO are introduced. Finally, topics for future research are suggested.

go to top   A Collaborative Fuzzy System for Unit Cost Forecasting with Partial Data Access
by Toly Chen, Yu Cheng Wang

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 700-705

Abstract - Due to security considerations, the integral access to the unit cost data is often limited. As a result, it becomes extremely difficult to accurately predict the unit cost. To solve this problem, a collaborative fuzzy system is constructed in this study. The collaborative fuzzy system is different from the previous methods because now each expert has only partial access to the unit cost data and is not willing to share the raw data he/she owned. In the proposed methodology, every expert uses a fuzzy linear regression equation to predict the unit cost. Subsequently, rather than the raw data, the forecasting results by an expert are conveyed to other experts to modify their settings, so that the actual values will be contained in the fuzzy forecasts after collaboration. A communication protocol is also designed to achieve this purpose. According to the experimental results, the hit rate, precision, and accuracy of forecasting the unit cost were considerably improved using the collaborative fuzzy system for either expert without sharing the raw data he/she owned.

by Xilong Qu, Linfeng Bai, Xiaobo Ming, Defa Hu

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 706-709

Abstract - Multimedia piracy becomes increasingly rampant in recent years. As an emerging technology for combating multimedia piracy, digital fingerprinting achieves to track the pirate by embedded a unique serial number called fingerprint into each distributed copy. Once an unauthorized content copy is found somewhere, the embedded fingerprint can uniquely identify the source of the leakage. Identifiable parent property (IPP) code can provide some traceabilities from the pirated data, and it has been widely used to track pirates. This paper proposes a multimedia digital fingerprinting scheme, where IPP code is utilized to construct the fingerprints to withstand collusion attacks. In order to resist multiple colluders and accommodate a lot of customers, we use q-ary (q>2) IPP code instead of 2-ary IPP code.

         by Jian Song

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 710-714

Abstract - A target identification method based on wavelet transform edge detection for eggplant picking robot is proposed for the sake of improving the operating rate and reliability of its vision system. Through experiments and statistics of the image color features of the eggplants under growing environment, color factor G- component is selected for the processing target, and median filtering method is adopted for smoothing operation. Combined with the space multi-resolution analysis principle of wavelet transform, it is put forward that the compact support biorthogonal wavelet structure is used for multi-scale edge detection. Besides, wavelet function is built, the high and low pass filter sequences are calculated, and the traditional wavelet transform is improved. It is demonstrate by experiments that the method used solves the problems of excessive edge details and noise in the traditional method, with better edge continuity and less crossing detection points and better real-time when used in target identification for eggplant picking robot, thus meeting the requirements of picking operation.

go to top   Multiagent Role Allocation Based on Cognitive Dissonance Theory
         by Florin Leon

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 715-724

Abstract - This paper proposes a method by which the agents can self-organize based on the changes of their individual utilities. Agents have different preferences regarding the features of the tasks they are given and their adaptive behavior is based on the psychological theory of cognitive dissonance, where an agent working on a low-preference task gradually improves its attitude towards it. The agents follow individual learning curves and improve their performance by learning or decrease it by forgetting. The model takes into account task inter-dependencies and constraints, as well as functional limitations of the agents. A (near-)optimal assignment of tasks between agents is achieved by an evolutionary multilateral negotiation. After repeated trials, the system stabilizes and the agents converge to specific roles, i.e. they handle tasks mainly defined by particular attribute values. Also, the total productivity is shown to increase as an emergent property of the system.

         by  Anurag Shrivastava, S.P.Tripathi

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 725-729

Abstract - Requirements Engineering (RE) problems are widely acknowledged as having a major impact on the effectiveness of the software development process, Sommerville et al. have developed a requirements maturity model. However, research has shown that the measurement process within Sommerville’s model is ambiguous, and implementation of his requirements maturity model leads to confusion. Hence, Mahmood Niazi, Karl Cox, June Verner proposed a new RE maturity measurement framework (REMMF) based on Sommerville’s model. The objective of research is to efficiently evaluate the RE maturity measurement framework (REMMF) for RE process maturity assessment. We present a tool support in order to perform calculations and to generate different assessment reports; we also present the assessment of good practice guidelines and maturity assessment results for different companies. Our conclusion is that the requirements engineering maturity measurement framework is use full in supporting maturity assessment, identifying requirements engineering process maturity.

by  M. Elhachloufi, A. El Oirrak, D. Aboutajdine, M.N. Kaddioui

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 735-739

Abstract – – In this work we present a method for recognizing 3D objects from images or 3D objects (base objects ) using classification and invariants.
The objects of a class verified the statistical properties and geometric characteristics similar and they have the same invariant. Indeed, to classify a 3D object in a given class, in the first step we apply the algorithm K-Means to the base object to determine the different classes corresponding to 3D objects composing it , then we compute the invariants from these objects using the canonical correlation coefficients from the canonical analysis applied to these objects to study the similarity of these objects. The 3D objects are considered a transformation of 3D objects by one element of the overall transformation. All transformations considered in this work are the general affine group.

         by  N. M. Nawi, M. Z. Rehman, M. I. Ghazali

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 740-748

Abstract – In the past 30 years Malaysian Industry has progressed a lot and emerged as a key player in maintaining the economical stability. Despite providing efficient solutions for Malaysian economical progress most of the major industries face a nemesis in the form of Noise. The high frequency noise emitted from the machines is causing adverse side-effects to the health of the blue-collared employees. One of the most common health injury caused due to exposure to high frequency noise is known as Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). Several studies have been conducted to study the major factors involved in causing NIHL in humans using Artificial Neural Networks. But these studies have neglected some important factors that play a major role in causing hearing loss. Therefore, this study is carried-out to predict NIHL in workers using age, work-duration, and noise exposure as the main factors involved in the hearing loss of a human worker. Gradient Descent with Adaptive Momentum (GDAM) algorithm is proposed to predict the hearing loss on both ears. GDAM shows improved prediction results for both ears. The Mean Square Error (MSE) calculated for Left Hearing Loss (LHL) and Right Hearing Loss (RHL) was found to be 2.18x10-3 and 2.30x10-3 respectively. The overall accuracy achieved for NIHL prediction in human workers was close to 99.37 and 99.01 percent for left and right ears respectively.

         by S. Loveymi, B. Shadgar, A. Osareh

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 749-759

Abstract – Currently, there is an increasing interest for setting up medical image annotation systems that can facilitate the patients’ diagnosis, therapy and treatment planning. This paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of image analysis and machine learning approaches toward an efficient medical image annotation system. In this way, we have utilized a large dataset of about 12000 manually annotated medical images for an accurate training and evaluation of our proposed method. We follow the standard pattern recognition paradigm, in which we first experiment with different combination of feature sets and then extract the most discriminative features for the problem at hand. These include, local binary patterns, shape descriptors, edge orientation histogram and Gabor filter features. An optimum classification-annotation model based on discriminative support vector machine is then trained and the model’s parameters are fine tuned using the extracted features. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed system is evaluated in terms of classification accuracy against the manually labeled radiograph images when we could achieve overall classification accuracy of 90.4% on the test data.

Abstract – A fuzzy c-means (FCM) and embedded-back propagation network (embedded BPN) approach is proposed in this study for estimating the cycle time of a job in a wafer fabrication factory, which is a critical task to the wafer fabrication factory. Unlike the existing approaches in which job classification and cycle time estimation are separate stages, the proposed methodology classifies jobs and at the same time estimates the cycle times, which is an innovative treatment in this field. For evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, production simulation is also applied in this study to generate some test data.

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 774-783

Abstract – This paper deals with the overview of association rule mining algorithms in large databases used for especially business organizations where the amount of transactions and items plays a crucial role for effective decision making. Frequent item-set generation and the creation of strong association rules from the frequent item-set patterns are the two basic steps in association rule mining. It becomes very much tedious for mining the association rules as the data are growing instantaneously in every sphere of life. Therefore it becomes important to develop effective association rule mining techniques in such a way that interesting rules are mined effectively from large databases. In this paper we have analyzed different association rule mining techniques with its current directives for large databases.

         by  Yunxia Pei, Yue Zhang

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 784-786

Abstract - Grid is an Internet-based emerging network computing technology, which enables large-scale resource sharing, innovative applications, and strong computing power. However, grid technology also causes a serious piracy. Although digital fingerprinting is an emerging technology to combat piracy, it should be used with a secure buyer-seller fingerprinting protocol, which can enable a seller to identify a traitor from a pirated copy, while preventing the seller from framing an innocent buyer. This paper proposes a buyer-seller fingerprinting protocol, which is suitable for grid context. To improve the distribution efficiency, the seller distributes a single encrypted digital product with a short clip to a grid. The one who wants to buy this product can get a decryption key by a fingerprinting protocol. When different decryption keys perform on the same encrypted copy, the result is each buyer gets a slightly deferent decrypted version, and the difference between the decrypted copes can be used to track the corresponding buyer.

         by  R. Rashidi, J. Haddadnia, R. Hemati

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 787-794

Abstract - Recently, methods based on local features have shown promise for object categorization tasks. But there is no single type of feature which can be optimal for all needs such as discriminative power and invariance. Hence, in this paper we benefit a multiple feature representation by merging diverse features for images. In this way we assume the image representation based on a single feature and extend it to the case of multiple features from several descriptors. The bag of keypoints model is used for representing image based on each feature type and a posteriori probabilities of the image is obtained by means of support vector machines. Then the final result is attained by applying our combination strategy on the results of multiple feature types. Experimental results show that using this combination method improves the performance significantly as compared with the single cue methods. Such a representation for merging features has high flexibility such that other descriptors yielding other feature vectors can be easily incorporated. Also, it is demonstrated that the proposed method achieves higher or comparable accuracies as compared with several state-of-the-art categorization methods on challenging benchmark dataset.

by  Wang Zhi-Wen, Li Shao-Zi, Dai Ying

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 795-805

Abstract - In this paper, an approach of integrating skin color segmentation and self-adapted template matching for the robust face detection is proposed. According to the clustering properties of the skin color of human faces in the YCbCr color space, the regions which close to the skin color are separated from the image by using Gaussian mixture model in order to achieve the purpose of rapidly detecting the external face. The influence of the brightness on the detection of the human faces is eliminated by using the illumination compensation technology, and also the confusion of the regions with the closed skin color with the human face is overcome by the adaptive template matching. Computation in the matching process is reduced by using the second matching algorithm. Experimental results show that proposed method can rapidly detect the human faces from a variety of images, while those detected faces include several of facial images with the different sizes, poses, races under the different illumination conditions.

         by  Nidal Abid Al-Hamid Al-Dmour

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 806-810

Abstract - IEEE 802.15.4 is a standard designed for low-rate and low power wireless connectivity among inexpensive, portable, and moving devices. IEEE 802.15.4 provides a Guaranteed Time Slot (GTS) mechanism to allocate a specific duration within a superframe for time-critical transmissions. This paper illustrates how the IEEE 802.15.4 performs regarding the number of packets received when both the number of slots allocated for GTSs and the transmission power are varied. The simulations have been carried out using Omnet++ simulator with the existence of path loss in the wireless channel and without a path loss.

go to top   A Reliable Storage Management Framework for Flash memory SSD based RAID Arrays
by  Sanam Shahla Rizvi, Tae-Sun Chung

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 811-819

Abstract - Flash memory becomes ideal storage media for small size consumer electronics and embedded systems as well as for large size multimedia applications because of its attractive features like fast access speed, shock resistance, high reliability and further more it's rapidly increasing capacity. However, flash needs expensive erase operation for rewriting data on same memory location that degrades the system performance. Therefore, for increasing performance by decreasing the number of erase operations, data in flash memory is likely to be handled by access patterns in hot and cold data nature categories. Separately storing data by nature in different blocks however reduces the frequent erasures but as a side effect consumes large main memory space to maintain the memory mapping table at fine granularity on a page level. In this paper, an advance storage management framework is presented where data is stored by nature in separate physical blocks but mapping structures are retained at coarse granularity on a block level. We deploy such system software for evaluating the system performance in flash memory SSD based RAID schemes. We also provide the firmware/driver based metadata storage framework and experiment RAID 0 and RAID 1 to support the increasing requirements of data reliability and throughput. Simulation results using real time traces and two modern benchmarks ensure significantly improved overall system performance with reduced erasures and preserved migration cost compared to well known previous schemes. Plus great performance in terms of high throughput and reliability, fast random access speed and low CPU utilization obtained from RAID arrays compared with non RAID flash drive and HDD.

by  Xilong Qu, Zhongxiao Hao,Linfeng Bai, Xizheng Zhang

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 820-826

Abstract - In this paper, a Fuzzy Active Queue Management (F_AQM) controller based on T-S models was proposed for the TCP networks in order to solve congestion control problem. A T-S fuzzy model was firstly formed to represent the nonlinear system of TCP/AQM. For converting the tracking control into a stabilization problem, a new control design was proposed to define the internal desired states. Then, the F_AQM controller for TCP networks with parameters and flow disturbances was designed based on this fuzzy model. Also, the feedback gains and the system stability were formulated and proved in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). NS-2 Simulation results show that, compared with other exist controller, it can track queue length more quickly under various network conditions, and show more robustness to dynamic network disturbances.

by  Ali Alifard, Bita Shadgar, Alireza Osareh

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 827-833

Abstract - The notion of cognition and reasoning is the core of cognitive sciences and artificial intelligence. Some sciences such as philosophy, logic, psychology, neuroscience and so forth are looking for exact explanation of how to do these processes in human's mind. What is certain or at least shown by natural evidences represents that “cognition” in nature has always brought up some kind of “learning” and “evolution” concepts. According to the natural evidences, most of organisms, at the beginning of their life, have a few cognitions about themselves and the world. However, they reach to a kind of cognitive evolution over the time. This notion is crucial because there is no complete cognition model of the world available at the beginning of life and there is no straightway to reach it immediately. It must be achieved over the time. This article is suggesting a framework which has focused on cognitive evolution notion for artificial intelligent agents/systems rather than organisms.

         by  M.Saqalli, H.Medromi

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 834-839

Abstract - TThe real-time computer systems became present in numerous business sectors today: in the industry of production, the aeronautics, the sector of the new economy, the treatment and the routing of the information (video, data, remote piloting, virtual reality, etc.). These last ones try hard, through advanced mathematical theories, of more elaborated Computing solutions and rigorous temporal constraints.
In this paper we propose a new approach multi-platform called "Timer" for the distributed architectures multi-agents. This approach is validated and implemented on platforms with the systems multi-agent. The objective of this Timer is to verify the capacity of every agent of the platform to perceive its environment and to elaborate an answer in required time.
This new approach can control several SMA (develop it c, c or Java) situated in different operating systems (Windows or Linux) and rejoinder on several machines.

by  Xilong Qu, Zhongxiao Hao, Xizheng Zhang

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 840-847

Abstract - In order to solve the problem of congestion control for nonlinear and uncertain TCP communication, this paper proposed a novel Active Queue Management (AQM) algorithm based on T-S fuzzy adaptive sliding mode control (FASMC). For the particular TCP network, a T-S fuzzy system was firstly constructed to model the nonlinear TCP/AQM dynamics. The AQM tracking problem was then converted into the stabilization one. In terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI), the sufficient condition for the existence of sliding mode and the asymptotically stability of sliding motion were derived. Meanwhile, the global adaptive laws were designed. NS-2 simulation results show that, compared with other exist controllers, it can track queue length more quickly under various network conditions, and show more robustness to network flow disturbances.

by  Licheng Yang, Jingxiang Hu, Liwei Ning, Jinchen Ji

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 848-855

Abstract - Rigid-plastic finite element method and isoparametric element technology are used to build fully three-dimensional FEM models of hot rod rolling process of typical carbon steel. All kinds of thermal exchange phenomena are considered in the paper, such as conduction at the rolls-workpiece interface, convection and radiation between the workpiece or rollers and the surrounding environment, and heat generation due to plastic deformation and friction work. Numerical simulation is carried out to examine the deformation characteristics, temperature field, and distribution properties of force and energy parameters for four-pass rolling process of two oval-round rollers, three round-flat rollers and three arc-flat rollers with Y type, respectively. It is found that the rolling force of the workpiece shortens drastically by comparing three rollers of Y type with two oval-round rollers. The flow of metal is more balance and the impact and wear is smaller than the latter. The simulating results keep a good agreement with the experiment data and the reported results available in the literature, which proves the model and solving method is reasonable.

         by  Ali Buldu

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 856-861

Abstract - In this study, the control of a greenhouse system and monitoring the system data over the internet is intended. Depending on temperature and humidity, a system controlling this greenhouse is designed. The measured values received from the system are stored in a database and then these values can be monitoring through a database communication protocol through a web interface. Apache web server for the web infrastructure for the system is preferred. Remote users can observe the data belonging to the greenhouse system using PHP based web pages via the internet at any time, or may adjust the parameters for the physical configuration of the greenhouse. In this way, users from anywhere and at any time can check and track automation data without any obligation of being existence. In addition, the recorded measured values and the changes depending on the time in the system's database would shed light on the approaching studies about estimated curves. Moreover, data mining technics would be considered in future studies to develop more efficient methods of finding convenient values of the greenhouse's setting configuration, regarding this paper. Therefore the methods could be used to increase the efficiency and the quality of the greenhouse management system.

by Azaiez Ikbel, Ben Ahmed Mohamed

         Vol. 6. n. 5, pp. 867-872

Abstract - In this work we aim to build, in a first step, a repository containing audiovisual document (AVD) doubly indexed: descriptively and thematically. And in a second step, the establishment of a search engine fragments AVD answering queries on descriptive attributes and thematic. The targeted platform includes as a first module, the automatic transcription of AVD text document containing all the content of a newscast and an XML file indicating the time code for each word transcribed begin and end in the sequence. The second module consist of segment text in homogeneous themes with identification of themes and extracting keywords by combining the two tools TextTiling and LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). A minimal ontology including the major themes will be expanded by the topic segmentation and extraction of keywords, so each major theme will be enriched and identified themes, and each of these themes will have annotated by the relevant keywords. In this paper, we present the conceptual model of thematic research platform into a repository of documents indexed by AV descriptive and thematic metadata.
