Abstract


The nonlinear optical properties for the dye Methylene Blue (MB) doped polymer polystyrene (BS) films with different doping ratio were investigated under CW diod laser light illumination at 532 nm wavelength employing the standard Z-scan technique. The closed aperture Z-scan shows, some sample exhibited appositive nonlinear refraction (self- focusing), the other exhibited a negative nonlinear refraction (self- defocusing). The open aperture Z- scan shows some samples gives reveres saturation absorption (RSA) and the other gives two photon absorption (TPA) or saturation absorption (SA) all values change with dye doping ratio.
